Reusable K- cup is smaller

steve321December 31, 2025

Just got this works well and I’m happy with it except the reusable k-cups I have are a little taller than the 4 suppled ones so I can’t use them with this coffee machine and I can’t see any offered by the machine maker. Read more

Compact coffee maker can handle ground coffee beans, K-Cup, or tea

Luke C.December 27, 2025

This “3-in-1” coffee maker is nice and compact, and I like that it’s versatile: I can brew coffee from K-Cup pods, as well as from ground coffee (pre-ground powered or fresh ground from beans — it comes what’s basically a reusable K-Cup style pod so you can brew whatever coffee you want). The 3rd function of the “3 in 1” functionality is for brewing loose-leaf tea — which is more or less the same as brewing coffee grounds, you just put the tea leaves in the reusable pod and let the device (I’d call it a coffee maker but I guess it’s a tea maker in this context haha) shoot the hot water through. I usually try to avoid using single-use pods/K-cups, since they’re environmentally wasteful — but they are super convenient, so sometimes if I’m in a rush I’ll pop one in to make a quick coffee. So I like that this coffee maker can handle both regular brewing as well as K-cups. On the other hand, when making tea I’ll often just use a tea bag in a mug of hot water for a single serving, or brew a full pot of tea if using looseleaf — so I don’t have a lot of use for a the tea-making functionality of this device. However, I like the concept — so I probably just need to get into the habit of using this more for tea any time I want a quick, single cup of tea, rather than wasting a tea bag or spending time making an entire pot of tea. In terms of speed and convenience, that would make sense, although I’m not convinced this method is best in terms of the resulting taste of the cup of tea vs. brewing in a tea pot — I’ll have to experiment and compare more. The water tank holds a 40 oz, so you can get a few cups of coffee or tea from this machine between water refills. Not a lot — but that’s the trade off for having such a compact device, and it’s easy enough to refill. The brewer gives you five cup sizes (between 6-14 ounces), which is a pretty typical range although I tend to want more coffee or tea at once (often using 20+ ounce mugs), so I end up having to run two batches to fill up my cup or travel mug if I’m looking for a good caffeine fix. The removable drip tray is helpful for this at least: You can temporarily remove it to fit a taller mug under the dispenser. It also has an auto shut-off feature that turns the unit off after a few minutes of inactivity, which is good so I don’t have to worry about manually turning it off after every use. A few minor downsides to keep in mind: This isn’t going to replace a high-end coffee maker or proper espresso machine, and it’s not ideal for a large family of coffee/tea drinkers or hosting a party — what it excels at is being a compact and convenient single-serve coffee/tea maker for making a quick cuppa. But the temperature controls are limited and you won’t be able to dial in as intense, customized, or specific a flavor as with higher-end brewers. Overall it’s a fairly basic and budget-friendly machine, and the build doesn’t fill very premium — the parts are mostly plastic, and it’s not dishwasher safe. If you’re looking for longevity and flavor and the ability to make more coffee or tea at once, I might instead recommend an insulated, steel French press coffee maker (which can also work for brewing tea in a pinch) and a nice electric water kettle with a good range of temperature options. However, while I have a number of devices for making great coffee, tea, and espresso, I wonder about the how long this little machine will hold up, I have to admit that it is convenient for making a quick cup of coffee in a single, simple step. Taste. Noise. Brew

AllanDecember 13, 2025

My particular coffee maker wasn’t acceptable for my needs. It rarely made 8 oz of water. But if you selected 10 oz. It would overflow my Ember cup. I usually had to add a little hot water from the tap to make it 8oz. Secondly, it began making too much noise before turning off. Thirdly, it took too long to heat the water. Fourthly, and most importantly is the taste. I gave it time after running several clear water rinses but it kept tasting like the coffee in the small coffee makers at hotel rooms. I love my coffee but this ruined the taste for me. I’m not fond of my Keurigs either. They stop working after only a year or two. Usually after descaling. This coffee maker would be fine if you’re not picky about the 8oz water amount or the sound or the metal taste. lol. I was hoping I’d find a good coffee maker that was simple. I don’t need all the bells and whistles. Read more

Enjoyable coffee and ample capacity for such a small footprint

rbeditrixJanuary 6, 2026

A full-size K-cup machine takes up a fair amount of counter space, and while I have a single-cup unit that is quite petite, it's a bit annoying to operate because you have to pre-measure the water for each and every serving. The Shardor 3-in-1 solves both issues handily, as it's relatively compact, yet provides enough reservoir capacity for several servings and the choice of brew amounts on the touchscreen front panel. It's pretty adaptable! One member of our household likes a concentrated brew (6-8 oz) and the other likes a larger serving (10-12 oz) so we both get a customized experience. If you use good-quality grounds or capsules, you will get good-quality coffee from this machine. We've experimented with commercial capsules, the refillable pods (the package includes four, which is generous) and the ground coffee adaptor. With the right choice of grounds/cups (we both like a dark, complex roast), we've achieved great results with all of them. It does take fractionally longer for the brew cycle to initialize than our other machines, but it's not an unduly long waiting time, and the coffee is properly hot. Read more

Slim, Versatile, and Shockingly Good at Its Job

Mark TomlinsonDecember 19, 2025

This single-serve coffee maker is one of those machines that quietly earns its counter space. It’s slim enough to fit almost anywhere, yet somehow manages to brew K-cups, ground coffee, and loose-leaf tea without acting confused about its life choices. Setup is easy, operation is straightforward, and the brew sizes are sensible — whether you want a quick 6 oz cup or a larger travel-mug-friendly pour. The removable water reservoir is a big plus, making refills and cleaning simple instead of a countertop yoga routine. Coffee comes out hot and flavorful, not sad or watered down, which is always the real test. The machine heats quickly, doesn’t make a fuss, and gets right to work. The auto shut-off is appreciated for those mornings when your brain hasn’t fully joined the meeting yet. What really stands out is how compact it is for how much it does. At barely over five inches wide, it feels tailor-made for small kitchens, offices, or anywhere counter space is treated like prime real estate. It brews directly into a travel mug without splashing everywhere, which feels like basic competence but is oddly rare. Overall, this is a solid, practical, no-drama coffee maker that delivers good coffee with flexibility and minimal effort. It doesn’t try to be fancy — it just works, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want before caffeine kicks in. Read more
