I wanted this hat/face mask, because I am up in the north east part of the United States and we are having an unbearably cold, snowy winter. As I'm getting older, I seem to be quite intolerant to the cold. I live alone and I own a house and so I snow blow the sidewalk and the driveway. When you start doing this work in -25° windchill, you run a great risk of your extremities getting frostbitten. It's imperative to cover up every part of your body. Hence I invested in this hat. It works really well. It keeps me warm and it's made of more of a nylon neoprene type of material instead of having fuzzes like the last face mask that I had that kept getting in my mouth. This is a really nice thing to have if you are going to be out in extreme temperatures. It fits right over my head very well and just lets my eyes and the top of my nose peek out. This week we've had temps in the teens and 30 mph winds so, I am so glad I ordered this before the wind got here - keep all the vital openings under cover while braving the elements! I really like this balaclava. The material feels good on your skin, the stitching is well done with no flaws and the fit is perfect. It keeps my head warm in the cold Chicago winters. A unique feature of this balaclava is the dedicated openings at the temple area to accommodate your glass frames. If you wear glasses you will be more comfortable with this design. This Balaclava is meant really to go on and then a hat or helmet on top. I am outside snow blowing or doing other things and bought to help keep me warm. My ears are always cold and this thing eliminated that when I have a hat over it. The next is made big on purpose so as to be a warm cover of the neck tucked under sweater or jacket etc. For the money I find it to be the best one I have. I have heavier ones but they are bulky and really not much warmer and cannot put a helmet over the thicker ones. I love this one and wear it around my neck all day and when necessary go out to do chores I pull the headpart up and off I go. I would buy one without second thoughts. Read more
