This is the lightest stable tripod I've seen. Impressively stable for it very light weight. I already owned the next size upward from Slik. So I expected that this would be well made, and indeed it is. If light weight is your highest priority, this is a good choice. But for general use, the next larger size is only about a half-pound heavier. Both of my Slik tripods have legs with 3 sections, which I like. Many travel tripod legs have 5 sections so they collapse shorter. But this one collapses short enough and saves you from the tedium of fussing with 15 sections (3 x 5). Read more

I just picked this up for use with my camera as well as binos for in the back country. The tripod is very light but seems to be very sturdy. I only got the 3 section adjustment but it seems like it will work very well for my applications. Read more

I purchased this tripod to lighten my load when carrying camera equipment on backpacking trips. The tripod comes with a carrying case but without a tripod head. After installing the tripod head the weight of the tripod the total weight was 2 lb 4 oz, compared to my older 3.6 lb tripod. This tripod is also more compact than my old tripod so it is easier to pack on a backpacking trip. The tripod feels stable with my camera mounted with my wide angle and Nikor 18-140 lens, but I haven't used the tripod in window conditions. All in all, the tripod is lighter than my old tripod, easier to set up, and more stable so I am satisfied. Read more

I researched probably 50+ tripods for my back country colorado fall bear hunt. This tripod was super lightweight (I went with a cheaper head that worked flawlessly but was heavy) twist locks held up great, super table even in wind. Performed well in cold and hot, snow and mud. Would def recommend. Read more

Although the weight rating isn’t huge this tripod holds all of my optics exactly steady while not breaking my back. You can’t beat the weight of the tripod for what you’re buying g. Additionally, being 6’1” I’ve been able to glass without any issues standing up. When collapsed I have absolutely zero issues fitting this on my pack. I’m definitely happy with my decision to go with the CF-634. Read more

Extremely light weight, low cost, and stable. I was surprised at how small it is. I can fit it in my camera backpack without any problem. Read more

This is kinda whimpy. I returned the 634 and bought a slik 734 instead it's the same height closed and extended but much more sturdy. Read more

Great tripod. Would benefit from a carbon fiber upper to decrease the weight. It is aluminum with a section that comes apart to get it all the way to the ground. Nicely designed. Read more
