The SMALLRIG RGB LED Photography Flashlight (Model T7, 7") isn't just a lighting instrument; it's a versatile creative tool that punches far above its weight class. For content creators, videographers, and photographers looking to inject drama, color, and dynamic flair into their shots without carrying bulky gear, this tube light is an absolute game-changer. Unlocking Cinematic Color and Control The core strength of this flashlight lies in its full 360° HSI mode, allowing you to dial in any color on the spectrum with precise control over hue, saturation, and intensity. Whether you need a subtle amber accent for a cozy interview or a vibrant neon blue for a sci-fi look, the ability to shift seamlessly between 2500K (warm tungsten) and 8500K (cool daylight) CCT gives you complete environmental mastery. The color rendition (CRI and TLCI ratings) is excellent, ensuring your subjects look natural and accurate under any setting. What truly elevates the SmallRig light are the built-in FX Effects. These include staples like Paparazzi, Fire, CCT Cycle, and Lightning, which are instantly useful for narrative filmmaking or background atmosphere. The controls are intuitive, making it easy to quickly navigate the menus, even when working fast on set. Premium Build and Practical Portability SmallRig is known for its durable, high-quality manufacturing, and this light is no exception. Encased in a sturdy, professional aluminum body, it feels robust enough to handle the rigors of frequent location shooting. Its 7-inch size strikes the perfect balance between portability and usable illumination area; it’s small enough to slip into a gear bag, yet powerful enough to serve as a main accent or hair light. The design is optimized for mounting flexibility. Standard 1/4"-20 mounting threads on both the bottom and side allow it to be easily attached to tripods, light stands, or camera cages (like SmallRig’s own) in multiple orientations. The internal battery offers respectable runtime, easily lasting through most shooting sessions, and conveniently charges via USB-C. The Verdict If you’re moving beyond basic two-point lighting and want to explore the world of color grading and practical effects, the SmallRig RGB Flashlight is arguably the best value in its category. It's affordable, incredibly versatile, and built to last. It’s an essential addition to any small-to-medium sized video or photo kit, giving you professional-grade results from a light that fits in your hand. This is a five-star tool that makes creative lighting accessible to everyone. Read more

I recently picked up a couple of these to use as accents and special fills for my work in film making. They're a great little light for an excellent price (under $50 when on sale) and they come with pretty much every gobo you could possibly want. I used it to film interviews for a documentary to splash a little texture on the back wall and it created a nice little subtle effect. The lights are rated for about 3 hours at full power and after 2 days of use, I can confirm that it's pretty accurate. And although there is no screen with information, there is a ring of light around the power/control knob that will start to flash red when the battery is very low. I'm giving it only 4 stars for two small reasons. First, while you can "focus" the beam of the light, and can compress or extend the gobo holder, it cannot create a sharply focused image on a surface. And second, it's probably not bright enough to use in many real production environments. But I think it would be perfect for most YouTube creators or influencers. For the price, this is an excellent and versatile light and the battery life is very very good. One thing that would be nice to have is the ability to power it through the USB charge port, but that didn't work for me. It seems the USB port is for charging the battery only, and not powering the light. Read more

I love this little light. So many uses, solid, easy to use. The various shades for the front make it fun for adding to photos and backgrounds. The things that I would change about it are more color options for the light itself, here you get 4. You can control the temperature of the light, but only the 4 colors. I will be making a diffuser for it as well. It makes a great back/hair light. Compact enough that I didn't have to make additional room in my light kit, just fight right in there. Read more

Very nice, solid unit - but limited brightness. Good for vlogging studio where you want a small accent up close. Too small to use as a spotlight or room light. Read more

This is, for me, my favorite travel light source. It fits my portrait style of photography while traveling abroad. Mounts nicely to a mini tripod, has numerous uses. 4 color choices white, RGB. It uses a rotating dial for intensity. I use it for backlighting or spot lighting. I'm very pleased with the overall performance. Battery life, it lasts for other an hour. In a pinch, plugging the type c cord into a power bank will give you hours of use. I love it. Read more

Sturdy and includes lots of gobo patterns, but the power is dim and won’t show up if there is another light source. Doesn’t focus well. Read more
