Nice for Zigbee signal extension

J. SmithJanuary 8, 2024

I didn't need a Zigbee plug, but I did need to beef up the Zigbee network in an area of my home that had only battery powered Zigbee devices that didn't relay the signal like "mains" powered devices do. This was an inexpensive (and easy!) way to extend range and it worked great... I use HomeAssistant as my control platform and these joined right up. They definitely helped me out with reaching the more distant battery powered sensors that I was having reliability issues with in HA. They do work great as switched power too from my brief tinkering, but I'm not currently utilizing them for their intended purpose. Read more

Works great, can’t beat the price

Evan C.January 9, 2024

I use these connected to a Hubitat hub (have 4 of them). Pairing was simple and quick. They turn on/off multiple times a day on a schedule or manually. Response time is great. I’ve only had one issue where one of them needed to be re-paired to the hub (an easy task) and that was after a hub update so I can’t definitely say why that occurred. Read more

Inexpensive and reliable

RH in SCNovember 14, 2024

Almost fits the bill. I did replace one of my Sonoff Zigbee plugs with a Z-wave version because the latter has a setting that lets me choose the behavior when the power fails (on/off/same as previous). These don't offer that functionality. Read more

Great with Home Assistant

Nunya BidnessJanuary 8, 2023

I used these switches as a dual-purpose item - one as a Zigbee smart outlet (which it does very well), and another as a Zigbee extender. I have a number of Zigbee devices scattered around my house on multiple floors, and the Zigbee devices on the top floor were a little unreliable until I added these switches on the main floor to forward the signal to the top floor. They integrate well with Home Assistant. Read more

They didn't last long. I'm loosing faith in Sonoff

S. StrassburgDecember 8, 2025

First of all, I like the Sonoff devices, and for the most part, they are solid. Until this purchase. First pair I bought, one of them wouldn't pair with home assistant. The second one wouldn't stay connected to my Zigbee network. No problem, I sent them back and got two new ones. First one synced right off the bat, and worked flawlessly for 2 month and then died. Went to replace it with my spare, and it would connect and work, but it kept shutting it's self off, re-sync, it would shut it self off. Turn it on in Home Assistant, it would go on then shut it's self off. And because I bought it 2+ month ago, I can't return them. And for $20 bucks for 2, it isn't worth sending them back to Sonoff, so I will just write them off as a loss. Read more
