This is an excellent product - I have accidentally dropped my phone onto a wood floor, my concrete driveway, off my bedside table - and no chips or broken screen or issues with the phone camera. It slips on the phone with ease and fits nice and tight. My main complaint with this is the lack of colors. I got the black because the pink quickly looked dingy and dirty. Black is fine and of course, doesn't show dirt. I just want a little more personality in color choices. I took a chance on this case even though there were some reviews that said it wasn’t “grippy” enough. I don’t agree with their opinions on this. I bought it right before my vacation and put it through its paces .Ocean kayaking - wet fingers and swells and chop and the grip was fine. Never dropped it once. Was able to take photos and video with one hand no problem. It has ridges on both sides of the case that marries well with your fingers. Took it 4 wheeling in a Polaris and was able to take video with one hand when my wife was driving and never lost grip. Now how are you going to tell me it’s not grippy enough when my wife is catching mad air and I have one hand on the “oh shoot” bar and the other bouncing around holding the phone shooting video? Exactly! It’s a great case and it also has an uncanny ability to stay clean. I never see any grime or oils from my hands on the case itself. A first for me. For how low-profile the case is it feels durable and that if I ever do drop my phone that it has a fighting chance of survival. It’s my first Speck case but I would buy from them again. Read more

I was really disappointed to learn that they discontinued the two-material composition of the Speck CandyShell Grip case I had on my last few phones. I was really sold on those grippy silicone ridges, and prepared to hate this case. But I actually love it. It’s a little easier to get in and out of my pants pockets, since there is no silicone to grab onto the fabric. I walk a lot, and usually wear those stretchy ‘Athletic’ shorts. They have super lightweight nylon pocket liners, and I was always walking around with my pockets turned inside out from removing my phone. No more. And those super grippy silicone nubs used to eventually break or wear off, which won’t happen with this one. The final bad thing about the old version silicone cases was that the lightning port was silicone only, and would always break off. This one covers the lightning port with all the same material, so it should last a lot longer. And the ports are all spot on. I absolutely LOVE the buttons. They are super tactile, and black. They look great on the matt blue finish, and feel like they are completely separate from the case… like you’re clicking the phone buttons themselves. They’re much better than any other case I tried, even other models of Speck cases. The raised bezel protects my screen and camera lenses well, and the phone snaps in perfectly. The matte finish prevents fingerprints, and there’s just something about the way it feels that’s still grippy, despite the lack of silicone. I’ve had a lot of Speck cases over the years (work phones, personal phones, wife’s phones) and they’ve never let me down. After days of research, handling dozens of cases, I think this is the best case out there. It combines the grip you need to keep from dropping your phone, with the protection you need if you DO drop it. Better protection, without the worn off nubs or turned-out pockets. I’ve used Speck cases (specifically the Candyshell Grip) on every iPhone I’ve owned. To me, it was perfect. Nice looking, very protective without being too bulky, grippy enough to keep me from dropping the phone, yet not so much that I couldn’t slip it into a pocket, and incredibly durable. I have to say that when I removed this new case from the package, I agreed with what a lot of these reviews are saying. I thought it was too slippery, and was disappointed in the fact that it’s all plastic, rather than like the older case, which was partially rubber. But you have to keep in mind that when you’re holding just the case, it’s so light that you can hold it super loosely, making it feel more slippery than if you’re holding it more tightly, which you naturally do with the weight of your phone inside. Once I tried it on my iPhone, I was more pleased. It felt sticky enough, if not as sticky as my old case. Having it on the phone for about a month now, I can say that, not only haven’t I dropped my phone, I haven’t even had a close call. It feels good in my hand, is plenty grippy, and is easier to slip into a pocket than the old case, in spite of the phone being bigger than my old one, because of the ridges not being rubber. The durability is of course yet to be determined, but it’s looking great so far. Read more

Great case - it’s my third one, replaced when I change models. Corners are very sturdy and my phone has survived multiple falls without any damage to the screen. I really like that it’s not slippery in your hand. Wish they would re introduce different colours. The red or pink make it easier to find your phone when left in dark places. I bought the blue rather than try a different brand though, that’s how much I like this case. Read more
