Stabila quality is exceptional! This little tripod is going to handle many jobs since the telescoping head reaches to about 6'. Rack and pinion helps to position laser to an exact height. UPDATE: Some months later I still find this to be a quality tripod. It is a bit on the heavy side for a small unit, but that just lends to the quality build. Would have bought the taller one, but could not justify the price when comparing to a standard survey tripod. Still love this thing and will continue to buy Stabila. UPDATE: Last week this tripod took a 4' fall onto concrete when it was in the closed position. I got lucky and there was no damage to any of the parts or the finish. I am sure part of this was a fluke, but it helps to show that this tripod is well built and can take some punishment. Read more

This is a great quality product. We did purchase it at the same time as making the investment of the laser. Personally I would say it’s not necessary; the tri pod that comes with the laser is more than functional. But as a replacement it is made sturdy. Read more
