STANLEY F 990P Supercoat Spray Foam Insulation - Closed Cell Spray Foam Covers Up to 240 Sq Ft

I used this product to insulate the inside of a 40ft shipping container workshop build. The product works quite well and is very easy to apply with a little trial and error regarding the actual application method, (standoff and overlap, etc.). The spray gun included with the kit was of surprisingly good quality and worked well for applying the foam. The kit also included several cans of foam cleaner that made cleaning up the spray gun very easy. The kit comes with one set of coveralls, goggles and each can of foam will have a set of spray tips attached and a pair of disposable plastic gloves. On, the tips, they are very hard to attach, so much so that at first, I thought they didn't fit at all. After applying significant force, they fit onto the spray gun nozzle and performed well. The kit is a bit pricey, but it seems to work well and is still less costly than other alternatives, at least for my needs. I will have to wait until summer to see how well the foam performs, but I see no reason to expect it not to work. As for coverage, it will take a fair amount of product to provide good coverage so be prepared to possibly purchase a bit more depending on how thick you wish to apply the product and the size of the area being sprayed. Still seems to be overall less expensive than hiring a company to do a comparable job. I'm sure the pro job would be of higher quality and probably provide better uniform coverage but at a price. For my job, it didn't warrant the added expense, and this product seems to have worked out well for my intended purposes. Read more

For an individual can system, it's not bad. Some cans were used for fan spraying and some were used for gap filling (using a modified nozzle). The cans that did gap filling really went the distance, while fan spraying seemed to eat the cans up quickly. Note: The spraying action and delivery quality is best in the 1st half of the usage. As the can empties, the loss of pressure starts to cause sputtering in the delivery. I also bought a couple of extra cans of gun cleaner and was glad that I did. I was only able to get two uses out of each can of gun cleaner before they simply lost pressure. The cans of cleaner were still 1/3 to 1/4, but would not longer push cleaner through the gun. This has been a very disappointing experience, and I feel compelled to warn others. The product itself was not usable for my project; it was far too rigid and would have interfered with the construction of my building. When I first attempted to return it, I was told the item was not eligible for return. Because of that, I arranged to resell it privately at a loss. Then, after all that, Amazon informed me in writing that the item was in fact returnable. So I paid roughly $150 in shipping to send it back — only to receive no refund at all. At this point, after spending over a thousand dollars, I would at least like my product returned to me. Instead, I’m out the item, the money, and the shipping costs. This is extremely frustrating and feels entirely avoidable. Lesson learned: do NOT buy expensive items online unless you’re prepared to lose the money. I could have purchased a similar product from another provider, but I chose Amazon for the convenience. In hindsight, I should have gone with the other company. Attachment shown on the product description don't come with the gun nor can you find them. The ceiling and wall nozzle come with each can of spray foam but do not fit this gun. I wound up buying a separate gun to be able to use the fittings for ceiling and wall. This gun creates quite a mess. The plastic tubes that do come with the gun do not remain seated on the nozzles end. Read more
