So we have this infamous lightstrip in a big bathroom in this house built in '89 that's been there forever. The existing bulbs were clearly incandescents, made everybody's skin color look wrong, and effectively functioned as an unwanted space heater (shown in the second image). They were just labeled '30V40W KOREA', so naturally I assume it's a special low-voltage lightstrip and spend forever looking for 30V-compatible LEDs. Well... they blew out immediately. I'm like... huh? How are these 30V incandescents surviving in what is now clearly just a regular 120V system. I still have no idea how they survived like that, but they always seemed super hot and bright even for 12 40-watt bulbs so... yeah. So now my options are far less limited. Phew. I go on the hunt for LEDs that will be bright enough for me without blinding others (these are 1,000 lumens per bulb), color-accurate enough for makeup and whatnot without looking blueish (settled on 4,000K), and look cosmetically appealing since there's nothing covering them. And it worked out! Efficient, beautiful, and they'll last basically forever. 10/10. Thank you. Read more
Brighter than their rating implies. Nice light temperature for bathroom over-vanity lighting. I have six of these on one old-school (i.e. not designed for LED) dimmer, and I can take them down to near darkness (probably 95% dimmed) without any flicker or ripple. I haven't had any other LEDs that can do this. I can't guarantee they'll do it in anyone else's application, but I'm amazed at how dim they'll get. I plan to buy more of these for some other rooms. These bulbs are awesome and bright; however, I needed them for a Sputnik light fixture and all the writing comes so far up on them that you can see it from the ground. I have to return them because they look tacky for that reason in my light fixture. Read more
