I will be installing these soon, but in the meantime, I want to give my first impressions. I will come back to update the review after install. I was pleasantly surprised with the design. The lights are made out of aluminum and are very solid. Based on the design, they appear like they will radiate the heat well as there is plenty of surface area on the lights. The lights are rated to be very bright and judging by the number of led’s, they will be. The lights come with a metal loop that screws into the top and has another screw to hold it in place. These lights are a huge improvement over my previous barely-lit garage. Ok, honestly, they are overkill. I will HAVE to get a dimmer installed soon. I have them installed in around 400 sq ft of garage space, and only around 8' off the ground. As such, these are overkill. But, I do really appreciate having very bright light, though if it's super bright I also appreciate the ability to change the brightness. I would suggest installing these at least 12' up unless you are going to use a dimmer and generally not keep them full brightness. The brightness is the first thing you notice, they put out a clean 5000K daylight that makes tools and work surfaces easy to see without any flicker or weird color tint. The aluminum housing is sturdy and well made, not like the thin budget fixtures I have tried before, and the heat fins do a good job keeping them cool during long use. Installation was straightforward with the hanging hook, though you do need to hardwire them since there is no plug included. I also like that the dimming wires are there if you want to add a 0 to 10V dimmer later. Note that this is not to be used with a standard 120v dimmer switch, it's a specific type that is designed for dimming LEDs and provides a voltage range from 0-10. There are a range of options to buy these on Amazon, from around $12 for 2 for very basic turn dials attached to a bit of wire, but a wall-mounted dimmer switch is likely over $50. You'll also have to run separate low-voltage wiring to each fixture to control the dimming. A couple things to be aware of, the cord is fairly short and you will need your own chain or mounting hardware depending on your setup. The product photos can be a little confusing since some images show three lights while certain listings are only a two pack. Ordering yet MORE of these Sunco UFO high bays was the best decision I’ve made since realizing coffee should be brewed stronger. They are absurdly bright at 21,000 lumens, throwing crisp 4050K light across the entire space like it’s auditioning for daylight. It’s not too warm, not too cool, just pure, balanced brightness that makes everything easier to see. The build screams durability. Thick housing, reliable waterproofing, and UL certification make me confident these lights will outlive me. IP65 protection is a blessing too, because my warehouse is basically a dust factory with occasional rain sneaking in. These lights don’t even flinch. Installation was surprisingly painless. The hook system makes them easy to hang, wiring is straightforward, and everything feels secure once mounted. The hardest part was climbing the ladder, which is more a testament to my cardio levels than the product. (Hey you try having 7 surgeries in 8 years, 3 of which are back surgeries one lasting 8.5 hours on the operating table on the last one!) The dimmable 0-10V option is excellent. Most of the time I run them full blast because the brightness is addictive, but it’s nice to know I can tone it down without sacrificing quality when needed. Smooth transitions, no flicker, no weird electronic hums. I do though dim them down for when I am not working on a project and just want security inside the building without running up a huge electric bill as the WoodWorking/CnC shop has now 12 of these lights in it and I am big on safety and security (from lots of lighting inside and outside, to so many security cameras on my property (the DoD knows why, but he local Police might start suspecting I am running a DIFFERENT OPERATION) :D The design is exactly what industrial lighting should be: compact, efficient, and actually kind of cool looking. The UFO aesthetic works (because I love UFOs and being an Alien from another world it looks a lot like my attack drones on board my ship), and they manage to look modern without being flashy. Functional style, which is rare in this category. Performance? They’re flawless. No flickering, no delay, just instant, powerful light every time. Coverage is wide and even, eliminating the cave-like corners that my old fixtures always left behind. The efficiency is the cherry on top. At just 150W, they save a ton on energy while blasting out more light than old-school 400W metal halides or even the 8ft to 12ft LED tube lights don't compete. Sunco somehow gives me the brightness of the sun without the electric bill of a small country, though I am working on it! Honestly, I love these UFO lights. Sunco delivers consistent quality, and these UFOs prove it once again. These UFO style lights are high quality, easy to install and have a great level of brightness for a shop. 3 of these goes a long way to lighting up a shop area as the brightness is ample enough to light my 1200sqft with no problem. They hang easily and have very little sway. I don't really make use of the dimmability feature personally, but it does work as advertised. Read more
