First, this scale looks very nice and I'm very impressed with the overall quality. Second, it does seem to work well. I had a different Taylor model for 2 years (that this guy is now replacing) and it worked ok most of the time. The problem with the last model was it was sloped up with separate "paths" for each foot. Which meant I put more weight on the back two "feet" of the scale than the front two feet. If I got back on the scale and shifted my weight just a bit more to the front two feet, I'd get a slightly different reading. I learned to stand the same way on that scale to minimize the problem. I've fixed it completely now that I've purchased this new scale. Note: Like most (or maybe all) consumer grade scales, it cheats a bit in the multiple attempts department. Meaning if it weighs you within a half pound or so of the first weigh-in, it gives you the same reading. I tested this by getting a 1/2 full cup of water and getting back on the scale, same reading. Filled the cup up just a bit more and got +.8 pounds. Dumped a bit of water out and the weight didn't change. Dumped a bit more, same weight. Dumped a bit more, -.6 pounds. I don't think that is a reason to mark the scale down b/c I believe all scales do that with multiple attempts in a short period of time. Tricky scale people. Update: I just tried it again (about 10 min departed from my previous scale tests) with only the empty glass and I got a reading of +.2 from my real weight. So it seems very accurate when you put a bit of time between weigh-ins. Best scale I've owned and the last one cost me over $40. Nice when you can upgrade and spend less!! Read more

Our previous black plastic taylor scale suffered an attack from our 15 month old. There were some loud bangs and the scale had given its last reading. Anyway, we had a glass one before the plastic one that we liked a lot so I figured I'd look for one of those again. We've been using this one for a few months and it's been good. Good: - Fast readings. - Consistent readings (when I check somewhat back to back). - Easy to read numbers (our previous plastic one had taller and thinner letters and was harder to read). Sort of cons: - I wish the background lit up (our previous had a blue backlight and it did make it even easier to read). - The circular base points are a bit far from the outside edges (too far inward). Sometimes when I try to stand on it (and 150% of the time when our kids stand on it) and you stand too close the edge, the other end of the scale seesaws up and then it falls back down to the tile sort of violently. I'm always worried we're going to break it. I have to be very precise when I stand on the circles so I don't do that. Anyway, we're still happy with the look and functionality of the scale and would make the same purchase again given the same options at the time. Read more

After 4 months of daily use, I feel as though I can give a well defined review of this product. I originally chose Taylor because of a friend's older Taylor scale model that we are using for Weight Watchers. It was incredibly accurate (going to the tenth degree to help see specific loss/gain), consistent each time I stepped on it, and I'll admit, I liked the sleek & modern glass design. I bought one off of Amazon and the shipping was lightening speed which thrilled me because I was eager to start having better accuracy with my weight loss goals. Out of the box and on the bath room floor, this is where I started noticing some problems. I stepped on the scale and it was showing an inaccurate weight, so I recalibrated/re-zeroed the scale (there is a button on the back side of the scale) and tried again. Results were still off, so I assumed that it was because the actual unit was cold from sitting out on our front porch. Over the course of that day I continued to recheck my weight, and each time I got different numbers. It would be off by 3-6lbs on a random check, even when I stepped on the scale, stepped off, and recheck right then. I continue to notice this problem and I now have the routine of stepping on the scale to start it (checking to see the starting number is 0.0lbs), letting it shut off, and then stepping back on to get my weight. If I don't do this, there are mornings where I will gain up to 3.8lbs in a matter of 30 seconds....? Overall, this unit looks awesome, and if I were using it merely as display, it does look great. But using as my right hand tool for Weight Watchers and loosing weight in general, I would not purchase this again. It is more of a headache and I use it as a ball park range rather than an accurate scale. The older model mentioned above still is going strong, consistent and is the scale I rely on each week at our weigh ins. Read more

I had this product a few years ago, and my housecleaner broke it accidentally (it fell off the counter as she was cleaning the floor). So, I purchased a different Taylor model (the cheapest glass one I could find). That was a mistake. The other one was opaque, and I really like the clear glass of this model, especially for a small bathroom. Although it takes up the same amount of space, it's less obtrusive because of the clear glass. I also realized that I REALLY like the rounded corners of this model. It's heavy and has a sturdy feel to it. There are also some sort of fabric cushions on the feet to both protect your floor and keep it from moving on you. It's easy to read, and I assume it is accurate. When the other model read the exact same reading three days in a row, down to the 10th of a pound, I began to question its accuracy. So far, I am very happy with this model. Read more
