After having bought 10 lb. bags of over a dozen varieties of Basmati rice here on Amazon, I've got to say that I always keep returning to Tilda as my personal favorite. I started buying Tilda in the bulk bins at Fred Meyer decades ago here in Portland, OR and I still find it to be superior to other brands. Perhaps obviously, I've never had a "bad" batch, or an insect or weevil of any kind. Very fragrant, well-washed and clump-free. And not parboiled; I am not a fan of parboiled rice. Read more

this wice is good. im eating as i write this and yes i typed wice and not white rice pros came in 2 days meaning amzn has a warehose on O'ahu so that is huge plus not having to wait normal week or more even with prime to get to Maui wish i knew exactly what they stored there as id only order O'ahu based items not rotten / rancid fresh zipper is godo quality even though i never keep my rice in the bag, this bad is well built and could handle the task tastes like white rice Cons it tastes like white rice no rich flavor so that is disappointing basmati rice is more flavorful my fav rice is Japanese rice grown in their highlands but its also highly expensive like 20 for 1 lb. but if you ever get a chance to eat this rice from friend who brothgt it back (not from amazon) but actually visited there, then you gotta enjoy it. that kinda japanese rice is best in the world seriously. i eat tons of rice a day i should know. i ve had black pink red brown india pakistani thia american and nothing compares. so back to this rice it is good got here in 2 or 3 days not rancid - fresh good bag will prob. buy again PS: all rice from southeast asia pakistan india etc has lowest levels of arsenic. california has lowest arsenic of usa rice but it is still higher than SEA rice. i still parboil all my rice. you boil in double amount of water strain add normal amount water cook normally this reduces 50 to 70 percent of arsenic from rice look it up - researchers found this to be true and they test all the diff methods lots of work but worth as arsenic is no bueno. ps num 2 Southeast USA rice has toxic levels of arsenic but not just rice as SE usa ie Cotton land has arsenic in the soild and water due to cotton king using it as pesticide. so anything from the se usa that grew cotten has high levels of arsenic. yay for cotton ...um no. Tilda is a quality brand of basmati that tends to be higher priced, so I don't buy it often. But I learned my lesson recently, after buying a Pakistani brand that was on special for $10/10 lb. The rice looked great but had absolutely no aroma, which is a huge part of what basmati rice should be. When I saw Tilda for $15/10 lb, I jumped, and I'm really glad I did. This is really good basmati, fragrant and delicious. Read more
