The TOMLOV DM9 7” Digital Microscope is an outstanding tool that combines ease of use with excellent image quality, making it perfect for coin collectors, hobbyists, and anyone working on small electronics. The large 7-inch LCD screen displays crisp, detailed images in 1080P with a 12MP camera, and the 1200X zoom allows you to see fine details that are impossible to catch with the naked eye. Focusing is smooth and precise, and the included 32GB SD card makes capturing photos and videos effortless. I appreciate that it can connect to a PC for larger viewing, but the built-in screen is more than enough for most tasks. The sturdy stand keeps the microscope stable, and it’s been especially useful for soldering work where a steady view is crucial. Overall, this microscope is powerful, versatile, and a great value for the price—I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable digital microscope. Read more

This thing is amazing. My 9yr old got it for his birthday from us and I was a little worried but holy cow its cool! It sees so much stuff, clear photos/video and focusing. Easy to use and lightweight. You can actually take it off the stand and carry it to use it alone cuz theres lights in the lens. Hes been glued to this thing for 4hrs now. Just took it outside to explore 😂 my phone wouldn't focus well but he's looking at fibers on my blanket. Very good tool for how cheap it was! The screen is the perfect size too. And its easy to connect the provided sd card to my computer and download his photos. Read more

For the money this is a great deal. The gooseneck lamps are a bit floppy, but not too bad. Resolution isn't great, but it's more than enough for soldering small components. My biggest complaint is the base isn't large enough I'm working on a 92mm board, and it's always falling off the edge and I have to hold it some when I'm working. I need to find a bigger base to put over it, I guess. Update: to fix the base plate issue, I bought https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQ46V2B7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 (Magnetic Helping Hands Soldering Station with 4 Flexible Helping Hands, 5X Magnifying Glass and Adjustable Light with 4 Magnetic PCB Holder on Large Non-Slip Base for Electronic Repair Visit the OBDMONSTER Store). Both this microscope and that station had nice measurements and it fits just over the solder station base. I didn't install any of the arms, instead I bought the right size nuts (T5-0.8) and put the screws down instead of up. Works great. Read more

I purchased this digital microscope for my university lectures where I am simultaneously teaching students in class and via Zoom. The USB function is a real plus. I was able to plug this in, and during a Zoom meeting, switch from my webcam to the microscope with no problem. This allowed students in class to watch what I was doing on the projection screen while students at home could watch on their computer screens, all with excellent resolution. The ability to take pictures or video with the microscope at the click of a button is a real added bonus. The microscope is very impressive for the price. It is relatively small and easy to pack and carry in the original box. I can set it up or take it down in about 2 minutes. The additional side lighting helps to produce shadows or provide illumination to your very tiny subject matter. Yesterday, I was teaching about the "placoid scales" of sharks. These scales are more like teeth than fish scales. Although you can readily feel them on shark skin, you cannot see them with the naked eye. This microscope showed them in far better detail than I had hoped. The 7" screen is like a very large cell phone or a small tablet. This is plenty big enough for soldering circuits, grading coins, etc. If you want it big, you can always project it onto a 100" screen (which is what I do in class). The digital functions of the microscope (lighting levels, exposure compensation, timer, camera functions, etc.) can be controlled with buttons on the screen or the wired remote. The rechargeable 18650 rechargeable battery is fairly common. While you can plug your microscope into a USB block to charge, I actually have a dozen of these batteries and external charger for my SCUBA lights. The battery lasts for about 3 hours and (if the battery ever dies) you can pick up a few extras on Amazon for relatively little money. Bottom line, although this may not be laboratory grade equipment, it does produce similar results and at a fraction of the cost. It does feel a bit like a toy, but it's hard to argue with the results. I'm far more impressed with this unit than I hoped. Time will tell how durable it is, but for now, I'm super happy I purchased the TOMLOV. Pictures included are of shark skin scales and close ups of a $1 bill. The last photo is the closest/most magnification I could get and still be able to focus. These are photos directly from the microscope. Read more

I’ve been using this 7-inch digital microscope primarily to identify real LEGO from fakes, and it’s become an essential part of my setup. The screen is sharp and bright, making it easy to spot the fine details that separate authentic pieces from counterfeit ones—like the tiny “LEGO” stamp, mold codes, and surface texture. Magnification is strong enough to clearly see imperfections or irregularities in the plastic, which is especially helpful when sorting bulk lots or verifying rare parts. The built-in lighting does a great job highlighting even the smallest differences without causing glare. Beyond LEGO, this microscope has also proven incredibly useful for soldering small electronic connections. It provides a clear view of fine pins, pads, and joints, making precision work much easier and reducing eye strain. The adjustable stand keeps things steady, and the ability to capture photos or connect via USB adds to its versatility. For the price, it’s a solid tool that’s found a permanent spot on my workbench.
