I really like this hair catcher! I originally planned to remove the bathtub plug and install it directly, but that turned out to be tricky, so I just placed it over the raised plug instead see the picture. Because the drain is close to the curve of the tub, I had to set it slightly off-center for it to sit flat — and it still works perfectly. After the first shower, it caught a normal amount of hair, so mission accomplished! In my previous apartment I used the dome-style catcher from the same company (silicone and metal), but it had so many tiny curves and openings that it was impossible to clean, and mold started growing inside. I bought this when the plastic drain trap we had disintegrated. The plastic one had a tendency to gather dirt and mold, and I was constantly scrubbing it.So I was looking for something stainless steel that would do as good a job collecting hair as the plastic one did I tried this one because I liked the look of it, and it is attractive. We have old bathtubs in a 1950s house, with very narrow drains, and this adapts well to them. It will work with most any size drain. That was one of the attractive features about it. I bought one, and was happy with it so I bought more. I will say, I have long straight hair, and it is easy to remove my hair from the mesh. However, my son has very curly hair, and it’s a little bit harder to remove his hair, it gets tangled in the mesh. But overall, I’m very pleased, and it is a much better look in the bathtub then the old plastic ones. Read more

Just what I needed! My baths and showers have had nothing from stopping the hair from going down the drain, this hair trap is weighty and flat enough for the hair to just flow down into the chains and get caught.
