If you like mobile gaming and want a bigger screen this will work. You can get 4k 60hz with a 1920x2160 resolution. Depending on the tv or monitor you may get full screen in 4k 60hz I haven't tested that I only have so many tvs and one 4k monitor on hand. I find it best to use a 1080p tv for me you'll get full screen at 60hz on most devices in mirror mode and arguably there's no difference in picture quality when you have a smaller screen like a 24'. For those that use Dex it works perfectly and oddly on my 4k monitor it will do 1080p 60 hz in full 32" screen in Dex mode but in mirror mode on my monitor it will only do 1080 at 30hz which is bad for gaming but just fine for watching YouTube or just movies in general. On my 65" tv it displays at 1080p 60hz in Dex and mirror mode same with other tvs I've tested just my 4k monitor that's wonky for some reason. The USB 3 port works flawless with my steel series headphones for wireless use and chat works perfectly. The charging passthrough seems to work perfectly keeping the phone at 100% charge. The unit itself seems well built everything is plastic these days can't fault that and being plastic it probably helps it run cooler not holding heat. My next point it runs cool a little warm which is expected but lukewarm with no glitching from getting too hot. The hard wired internet connection for me doesn't work probably due to my device but the lights turn on telling you it's connected. Overall it's a great little device. I'm a Microsoft SurfacePro user. The original docking port I bought with my first SurfacePro had mini-HDMI connectors that required an adapter cable. Four years in both adapter cables stopped working instead of getting new mini-HDMI to HDMI adaptors, I got this product that plugs into the USB-C ports on my computer. This works really well. As the external video feed was the only thing I needed, this unit serves the purpose it was bought for in a small light package. For people who need more than HDMI, this unit has two USB slots, two memory card slots, and a power outlet. I use the USB for an external microphone, but none of the others, so can't comment on those. Read more

I bought this product to expand a laptop's port selection. It did function properly. If you're looking for more usable ports with less plugging in/out every time you drop your laptop at a desk, this will do the trick. However, if you are sensitive to electronic noise (coil whine, a high pitched hum) AT ALL, I would probably spend $10-15 more and get a product built to a higher standard. Full credit for the price point - this undercuts competing solutions by about $10, an impressive feat at $25 - but I believe the corners that were cut to get those power delivery electronics in for such a low cost are the reason it's so loud. I returned this because it sat next to my head in bed and the noise it made constantly while supplying power overnight was not exactly my favorite soundtrack. Read more

I needed to interface an SD card to my Macbook Air. This little dongle is great value, I appreciate having this for any other connections I will need. All of my monitors connect directly to USB so I didn't need an HDMI on this. I like the wire of this dongle as it has much more durability than the dongles that plug directly into the computer with no wire in between. Read more

While it has several USB connectors, my laptop didn't have connections for hardwired 100/1000 Ethernet or HDMI. While not being used constantly, this has solved that problem for the last year. Easy to carry when I travel. Read more

This item appears to work with only 1 hardware attached at any one time. I connected the Cat-5 cable and the Dragon Mic II at the same time but after 30 min or so, the Dragon Mic was no longer seen by my laptop. I must detach and re-attach the mic to get it to work again. This has to be repeated frequently. Even without the Cat-5 attached, I still have the same issue. The device also gets hot. If using both USB at the same time, the laptoo is much less responsive. I am not sure if Thunder Bolt port can't support multiple devices at the same time or if this device needs additional power supply for it to work better but I have contemplated in returning it.
