I have always had terrible luck with suction cups. I typically find them to be unreliable and downright conceptually dubious. However, I love a chance to be proven wrong by Amazon products. This is a phone mount that utilizes the magnet from the magsafe on the back of your phone, converting to a suction cup at the other side, with a rather maneuverable and sturdy arm in-between. It's unclear if this is a drop-shipped product branded by a re-seller. EVEMANT appears to curate a nice, small collection of similar items that appear to come from the same manufacturer, whoever they are. The build quality is really solid. The plastics, metals, and rubbers are all weighty and far from the cheapest materials that could have been utilized. It's also fairly attractive, folding into a sleek little puck that fits, albeit awkwardly, in your pocket. The magnet connection to the phone is strong, and as easy to install as simply placing it against the magnetic part of your phone. The magnet is strong enough that this is never in danger of being a failure point. The suction cup has your typical requirements shared by all suction cups. The surface needs to be perfectly smooth, flat, and preferably clean. If all these boxes are checked, however, this is the suction cup you want to have. There is a plastic ring around the base which, when twisted, sucks in the suction cup. It works surprisingly well. You simply twist in the opposite direction to detach it; or pull the rubber tab on the edge if you're in a hurry. The typical stressors of pulling at it at an angle, twisting it, or sliding it will cause it to detach rather easily. Once it's in place, it really shouldn't be futzed with. The unbranded box includes a couple little accessories to make your life easier. One is a smooth circular, plastic plate that's just wider than the suction cup. This is to stick somewhere you want to use the mount, but don't have a smooth surface. I believe it's meant for the dash of your car. I, regrettably, stuck it to my desk and it's on there good, but the adhesive doesn't seem permanent enough to damage the typical dashboard upon removal. The other add-in is a magnetic ring, also adhesive, that can be stuck to the back of your phone or case if it does not already have its own magnet. Overall, the mount is really versatile. You can stick it all sorts of places, the arm is sturdy and can angle the phone at two articulation pints and rotate at two more, if you include your ability to rotate how the phone is stuck to the magnet. This lets you essentially angle it from a wall like a nicer TV mount. At the price, it's an excellent value. PROS - Build Quality - Price - Packaging - A working suction cup! CONS - This took a long time to be fulfilled compared with similar products. - Adhesives could potentially damages certain surfaces upon removal. - Relies on a suction cup, which you may understandably just have bad luck with. I was very skeptical at first, but this thing works incredibly well. I use this at home as well as on the plane it held up under the turbulence of takeoff as well as in the air. I attached it to the screen of the plane and was able to hang my iPad on it without any trouble.
