One thing is clear as soon as you open the package and unpack the product. VEVA cares about quality. I hardly ever review anything, but in this case I think it’s worth it just to get the word out. A close visual and tactile inspection of these filters shows they’re just as solid and well-made as the original Honeywell filters. And make no mistake, these are *true HEPA filters, the real deal. At about half the cost of the original filters they’re going to save me a ton of money. My HPA-300 uses three of these. They only last about nine months, so the cost really adds up over time. Some reviews have mentioned an odor of gasoline in the new Honeywell filters and even a chemical odor in the VEVA filters, but I didn’t detect any odor at all in these VEVA filters. I’ve ordered a lot of products from Amazon that didn’t come with any instructions at all, but VEVA includes plenty of information with their filters and more than adequate instructions that are very helpful and easy to understand. Kudos to Vanessa P. at VEVA (whoever she is) for being big on customer service and doing lots of follow-up. In addition to these HEPA filters I also use VEVA’s charcoal prefilters in my air filtration unit. They too appear to be a well-made quality product and they perform very well. I just installed the HEPA filters today so it remains to be seen how well they’ll do over time, but I’m optimistic. Read more

I've bought some too-cheap filters for my purifier before, but this one seems to be doing quite nicely with HEPA performance! The fit is perfectly fine, it drops into place with minimal effort, but (importantly) the filter also isn't 'hanging loosely in there'. My purifier doesn't have lock-ins for the filter, so that behavior is quite perfect for me. I've found these filters to be trustworthy enough that I use the purifier on Turbo and put next to a dehumidifier when I blow the dust out of the coils on occasion. The dust vanishes into the filter, and I never 'smell anything funny'. I eventually change filters when I notice that the fan is running fast. I'm going to actually purchase another package of these very soon. I go through them steadily as I deep-clean this old (1930's era) house I inherited, as it has TONS of fine dust everywhere. I bring this purifier with me from room to room to sweep and dust and do repairs since I'd like very much to minimize my risks of 'finding asbestos with my lungs' as much as I can manage. To note; they do not rate these filters for asbestos or leaded-paint use, I'm simply using them to help with that, as I have work I need to do no matter what. I can't afford the super-pricey lead/asbestos-rated commercial grade stuff. But, in 'not maybe asbestos' ratings, these filters seem to gobble up a good bit of matter before clogging up. I'm quite pleased. Edit: Oh no! I come back to order some more of these and it's sold out and they don't know when-or-if it will be back in stock. Hm...sadness. After using five of the six, though, while I haven't done any laser-scintillation particulate tests, in my super-unofficial tests of 'using them', these filters fit my Honeywell very nicely. They do have a strange smell to them when opened, but I just open them, wave them around a little bit and they're fine for me. For people who find the smell to be more of a stench, I'd suggest waving them around outside in the air for a moment. I think it's just a curing agent, like a rosin-evaporative agent or something still drying a little bit when packaged. If you're really desperate, maybe unpack the filters and leave them outside with the laundry for an hour or something, maybe. I might put them on my enclosed front porch and let them get sun-toasty that morning and then bring them back in. They are a tiny bit whiffy to me, but for folks it really bothers, open them outside and (protect them from rain/snow) let them get a bit of air and they're likely to be fine. Read more

My two Honeywell HPA300's needed their HEPA filters replaced for the first time. I was hesitant to purchase non-OEM filters—especially filters manufactured in China—given how important tolerances and specs are in this case. I also factored other reviews that mentioned smell and incorrect filter size. I decided to take a risk. When these arrived, they fit my two HPA300's perfectly. Ironically, I noticed that one of the OEM filters that came in the box with the Honeywell purifier was improperly sized (too small) and therefore there was a trail of dust on one side where air had been continually slipping past the filter. These filters also had a slight hydrocarbon smell when the plastic bags sealing the individual filters were opened. However, that dissipated rapidly, did not cause my living area to have an off-smell, and honestly I cannot remember if the Honeywell OEM filters also had a mild smell when they were first opened. In summary, I will definitely purchase these again, given this product: 1) Is less than half the price of the Honeywell OEM filters 2) Appears to have the same (or better!) tolerances than the Honeywell OEM filters 3) Effectively has no VOC-type/off-gassing type smell Read more

I've had these filters for a few weeks. Out of the box, I was pleased. I couldn't tell a difference between the name brand and these on inspection (except for the tag!) They fit as snugly as the original Honeywell filters and I've had no problems with the air purifier. Since these are a good deal less expensive than the name brand, I'll be using them regularly.
