Vitamix 5201 XL Variable Speed Blender 64 Ounce Black Clear

The media could not be loaded. I upgraded from vitamix 5200 as I cook for my 3 dogs and a 4th one is about to arrive. I cook 3 whole chickens and 3x 10lbs bags of leg quarters. All of it is fully cooked but it cruches every bones. We got a paste at the end. On that video I put 8 leg quarters but as we went (it’s been 6 months) I can do 10 leg quarters with a quart of water! I'm not sure why there are any poor reviews of this Vitamix? The 5201 XL is fantastic. I make organic vegan/vegetarian pudding for a living and this does everything my 7500s do but with 3x the efficiency and a 10th of the time. The XL's 1.5gal container is enormous, not a 30l but huge. The blades cook just like the 7500, may take a few minutes longer due to the quantity of food blened, but just as well. The motor takes all the load I give even on a 15amp breaker, no problem. I would get two batches done and the 7500, over heats and shuts down, with less than 1/3rd the product. The XL takes all I throw at it with ease. The XL is nit cheap, however, it IS Vitamix quality. This review is overdue but ours broke within the first year. I don't recommend at all. I own several Vitamix blenders and the quality and power of the small ones beat this one by A LOT. I wish I could return and get my money back or exchange for something else. Read more

Pretty amazing piece of equipment. Purchased this for a restaurant kitchen and it is working very well. Used to buy the Waring Commercial blender at about $1000 a piece but they required regular repairs which ended costing more than the blender each year. Researched this item for at least 8 months then saw it in person at the NAFEM show in Orlando. The Best Feature... the speed control knob. That REALLY helps my kitchen staff control the sauce making process and avoid lock ups and spillage. The 1.5 gallon container is also a plus as most commercial blenders are 1 gallon. I have 4 other Vitamix machines at our restaurants for smoothies and I have not had to replace one in over 2 years. Hoping for the same longevity with the XL. Read more

This blender is INSANE! Don't own a cement mixer? No problem! This blender can do the job! And why work from boring ole' pre-bagged cement mix? With this blender, you can easily grind your own limestone fines! In all seriousness though, Vitamix has really outdone themselves this time. If your budget allows for it, you won't regret picking one of these monsters up. It specifically saved me a TON of time during cider season! With a 1.5 gal pitcher, two blends, and I was ready to drop the press again. Now the old hand-crank chopper can finally retire to a much deserved, peaceful existence in an antiques display. :) Read more
