Vitamix XL Programmable Blender

We purchased our new Vitamix XL Programmable Blender, Model 5202 (#VM0141) from KaTom Restaurant Supply via Amazon, and got a reasonably good price from them as a Vitamix Authorized Dealer. Before purchasing this particular Vitamix Model, we had previously owned the best and most powerful Vitamix Blender, as well as the best and most powerful Blendtec Blender, that were available at that time. Both of those Brands and Models were very reliable over the years, but this time we wanted a massive Container and a massive Motor (4.2 HP). Thus the Vitamix XL. It mixes and blends everything effortlessly, and the two sizes of Containers are extremely convenient (1 1/2 Gallon & 64 Ounces). It comes in a Variable Speed or a Programmable (pre-Programmed) Model. For our Family’s Kitchen and Blending needs we prefer the pre-Programmed feature. Vitamix should advertise the Vitamix XL for home use more often. Pretty sure allot of Folks would find its Power and Container sizes very useful for their Food Prep and Blending. We sure do! I had to transfer my cilantro purée to a 2.0 hp household unit (gave the 2.2hp vitamix to a friend, thinking this "4hp" unit would take its place) to get a proper blend. Vitamix rep called to say I would have to just blend it longer. NOT! I tried for a long, long time, then ended up using the other machine. He had the gall to tell me the XL was intended for nursing homes and cafeterias. NURSING HOMES AND CAFETERIAS? Save your money. You're welcome. Read more
