I love this knife set and the detail that went into the aesthetic while maintaining blade quality. The knives are really sharp but the knife block began to split right down the middle of the wusthof logo which is really disappointing. ——————- Update! The knives themselves are sharp, durable, and comfortable to grip. I was initially worried that the plastic handles would feel too lightweight and cheap, but they surprisingly feel solid and have a nice, heavy weight to them. From cutting through dense vegetables like thick-rinded gourds to making a chiffonade of basil, the blades have held up exceptionally well. They are much more resilient than my old Japanese knives, which easily chipped. I have ‘Sumac’, which is a lovely shade of reddish-brown burgundy. I do find the price tag of $800+ to be quite expensive for what the set includes. Compared to other brands, even cheaper Wusthof sets, this one doesn’t include a set of steak knives. If you do want a matching color set, they sell it separately for an additional $300! Additionally, the knife block included is incredibly cheap. Not only does it look low-quality, but it also feels like something from IKEA. The open slat design allows the knives to loosely fit and not be secure. Within a month of owning it, the knife block cracked due to poor build quality. Update JAN 2026 (10 months of usage): Knives are still in excellent condition and very sharp. The company never did reach out to me about a replacement for the wood block though. Read more
