  • Product description Specialists Certified by WQA in 2020 The WECO Backwashing filter with is a specialized Point-Of-Entry (POE) system for municipal and residential well water supplies. The iron reduction media consists of manganese dioxide (MnO2) coated onto naturally mined ZEOSORB. This is a light-weight filtration media with many valuable functions and properties related to water treatment and remediation. This media has a very high surface area which filters out particulate matter down to three microns. This is an ideal media to use for removing Totals Suspended Solids (TSS), turbidity and sediments like sand and oxidized mineral particles. Iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide are easily removed with this media at proper feedwater conditions. The active surface coating oxidizes and precipitates soluble iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide, which are flushed away in the back wash operation. Love this filter!

This filter really impressed us with the water quality. The filter is probably three times larger than the old filter, which means it will last much longer. This filter also regenerates when 1000 gallons is run through the filter, the old one regenerated every night. This filter regenerates at a whisper, the other filter sounded like a freight train. Did a lot of research before buying this filter. My research paid off. Had 1.3 mg/L iron problems. Red stains all over. This got rid of all iron. I'm hopefully set for 7 years, as advertised. Technicians were very nice and helpful when I called to clarify some setup questions on the touchscreen valve. They recommended this be set up to be backwashed automatically every 4 days at night.
