I bought this to help supplement the AC on the second floor of our house. We have two central AC units, the main floor runs great, the second level, can’t keep up. I received a quote for $10k to replace and upgraded the central unit for the second floor. I’m trying this instead. It’s placed in the master bedroom and I leave the doors open (French doors) to cool the rest of the upstairs and it does help. I close the doors we don’t use. Before using this the upstairs would heat up to 80-81 degrees because I’d shut off the AC unit or it runs nonstop, now it stays around 77, so still warm but not as bad. If we shut our bedroom door it gets COLD in the bedroom so if you’re looking to cool down a large room, this will definitely work. It was easy to set up. Read more

Original purchase ran for about 1 month and then quit running when the discharge fan disintegrated. Contacted manufacturer and spoke with very polite woman named Mia. I sent photos of the broken squirrel cage, and within a week they notified me they were sending a completely new replacement A/C unit which ran extremely well for the rest of the summer. Not happy at all. Finally installed today, was 90°. I turned it on cool & blew all my breakers. Unplugged everything major in the house & let it run a couple hours. Barely got a cool breeze out of the thing & unit was extremely warm to the touch. Read more

I am licensed on up to 5 ton HVAC. 44 years experience with residential, Transit buses and commuter rail HVAC systems. I give this unit 5 stars for indoor cooling and 4 stars in cooling and dehumidifying and uninsulated garage with the two door open at the last seven inches. We are near Tampa Bay. It is July. Today was 95° with 106° Reelfeel. In our 580sq. ft. main room it cooled within ten minutes. It brought the garage to 83° with 51% humidity within one hour. I would say use the dehumidifier setting in the garage. It has about the highest SACC indoor rating in the industry for a single hose units. Its 14k BTU and provides 10,200 BTU SACC, indoor actual cooling. For a single hose units a 28% BTU loss is the Gold Standard. Ideally a two hose system, intake for the condenser is optimal but this Garveelife unit is the next best. About 90% of residential retail units at this price are single hose. I have put it through the paces for cooling and the unit has passed my hands on tests with flying colors. Someone reviewed that 61° was in the pictures. That's your desired setting, not the actual achieved temperature. No residential portable or central unit is made to cool to 61° ambient. The pictures and operation confirm that the lowest setting is 64°. The exhaust hose and window kit are very high quality. For patio doors Amazon sells a kit at $36 that is the same quality. 5 star unit hands down. Read more
