This is a nice MP3 player. My grandkids like it and it works well for them. I ran into some issues with one of the players and contacted support via email and they resolved the issue very quickly. It is amazing that they can put out a product at this price point. Yes, it's quirky, and has some bugs. I connected via USB to a linux computer and transferred over too much music, which ended up permanently foobaring the internal drive (to the point of no longer being able to use USB file transfer, factory reset doesn't allow one to recover from this failure either). I was expecting to use it with a microsd card, so I decided to go ahead and populate a 256 GB card (mounted directly on the computer) then put it in the S5 player. Selecting "Update Playlist" worked, albeit slowly (as expected given the size). Feedback during this process could have been better. Once done, it currently reports "Total Capacity: 238.30 GB, Available Capacity: 100 GB", thus about 138GB of music on it. The "Music" app is simplistic, allowing you to choose music by singer, or by album, and then you'll see a list of tracks. Not a great interface for a large collection. It doesn't appear to read MP3 tags, so you need to have files named appropriately (I have a folder layout that I like, but the tracks are all named "track<n>", I'll need to rename them to have the track title instead). The "Folder" interface works out better for how I've managed my collection, but when you select a song to play in that interface you don't get any sort of "Now playing" screen, so, you have no control over the song as it plays (or as it moves on to the next song in same folder, rather than just playing the single selected song) [actually, it does show it, but if you hit a back arrow you lose it, but can recover it by going to the "Last played" function in the "Music" app]. It's very quirky, and requires some patience when doing some functions, but, it does appear to work. Once I got music playing I thought I'd try bluetooth, so I paired it with a wonderboom without issue, and it worked just fine. Just a brief update: playlist length is limited to 5,000 . Also, while not claiming to be supported, I loaded up my entire collection onto a 1TB PNY microsdxc card, and it read it just fine, showing: "Total capacity: 931.32GB, Available capacity: 321.09GB". Obviously, it's not really intended for such large collections, and lacks a lot of features found in higher end players. For what it does though, I think I'll stand by my 4 stars. Support was very helpful, they sent me a replacement unit to cover the originally failed unit. Read more

First of all the audio player works well and is actually loud (as long as you don’t put it on the desk with the screen up and speakers on the back). Works really well for the price point. Three small points of annoyances: 1. Software keeps on wanting to delete files when I click on them in file browser 2. The bookmark feature leaves a lot to be desired. Not user friendly (not simple click to save position and click to go to that position easily). And finally the file software didn’t like mpa and mpb as I had hoped it would. So I had to convert my audiobooks to MP3’s, which play well. File transfer is fairly rapid. While these software related points may possibly detract a star, the first class customer service brings it back up to five. I had an issue and they immediately responded by email and resolved my issue. Overall highly recommend if you need an audiobook player for mp3 files on the cheap. Read more
