The material is incredibly soft and gentle on the skin, making it very comfortable to wear for without any irritation used for couples of weeks and it feels really good to have relief my dryness. I have tried various eye masks for dry eyes, ranging from $10 to $150. Rechargeable eye masks are great in general, far better than microwaveable etc. Now this particular eye mask, - It is a bit smaller than many others you will see. I see that as a positive, it fits better around your eyes. The other eye masks wrap around your face, and the heated parts don't transfer heat to where you need it, your eyelids. - Comfort - yeah this is very comfortable. - This mask has an external control, this has two advantages 1) You can set the settings by peeping under the mask after you position the mask, 2) If you lie down on a side, there is no button on the mask to poke you in the eye. - The construction, many eye masks have a heated removable inner. Personally I don't like that design because the heated portion inside keeps moving, think like a down comforter. This on the other hand is like a pillow on your eye. Stays in place. - Color and cleanliness - I don't know how this mask will look like in a year, probably will get dirty. I don't know if it's washable. But they do include sheets you can put between your eye and mask, so there is that. - Heat - Some masks get too hot, like dangerously hot, even burn the fabric. This has 5 temp settings, I've been using it at 5 for 15 minutes, and it's good heat at 5 without burning. Any hotter would be too much. But I do want it to work so 5 it is. You might like 3. - The device gives me 4-5 uses on one charge at 5 temp setting for 15 mins. - The device then charges at a max of 10W, tapers down as it charges i.e. they didn't include a cheap charge controller, gives me some confidence of component quality. - Comes in a nice hardshell carrying case for storage or travel. - The vibration at the end, I don't know how medically useful it is, not saying it isn't. But the benefit is, it lets you know its time to wake up and get back to work. Otherwise I tend to fall asleep with these on. Possible improvements - - I wish the controller was detachable. I am worried that if the cable frays or breaks, this device is then useless. - Maybe asking for too much, but imagine if there was no button, no controller, and you could control it via bluetooth from your phone, now that would be super cool. If this company ever makes such a mask, I would love to buy it. Other notes - I bought this on amazon, and I received a defective unit. Amazon is great on returns, but I did email the vendor directly. While amazon had my back, the vendor immediately without hassle sent me a replacement overnight. The replacement unit has been working fine (I've only had it for a week, but the vendor says they have a 1 year warranty). Anyway, if you have dry eyes, styes etc. or eye strain due to too much time on the computer etc. Get this mask. You will love it. I have tried almost everything, including visits to multiple eye doctors. NOTHING helps better than a nice heated eye mask, which this is. Lovely portable heated eye mask from Aroma Season. The smaller eye portion allows the lids to actually get the heat and help clear the meibomian glands. I set my mask for a little longer than the amount of time I need, so 20mins for my 15 min session... that way I turn off before the 2 minutes of vibration start, as I don't really like that part. The Aroma Season heated eye mask feels very soothing to my eyes. I have dry eyes, so I brought the eye mask to help my dry eyes. I have only used it 2x, so, I am hoping it will help. It has a vibration at the end, which does starle me but it feels good to my eyes. You can set timer for a little longer, and cut it off before it starts vibrating. This heated eye mask is almost perfect... I have 4 heated eye masks sitting next to me and this one is absolutely the best design among them. Starting with the fact that the mask acts as an actual compress on the eyelids without excessive pressure, and I really like the hygienic sheets. This is also the only mask that's comfortable for a right side sleeper since the heating element and controls are not on the mask, the cord isn't restrictive since it's basically a battery pack. This also makes the battery life on this much better than the masks with the controls on the actual mask. The temperature range is good, it generates real heat without being too much. The only reason it doesn't get all 5 stars is the vibrating massage feature is not optional. You cannot turn it off, and if you're lying on your side it sounds like a construction zone is under the pillow when it automatically turns on. Nothing like being relaxed and in the early stage of sleep and getting rattled awake. If there was an option to turn the massage mode off it would be perfect. And the massage mode is nice, just not when you're sleeping and happen to beat side sleeper. The other less than ideal aspect is that you cannot remove the cover to wash it, and I think that's pretty important even when using the hygienic sheets. Read more
