I always purchase Asurion protection plans when I purchase electronics or any other item that can break or malfunction, due to the price and ease of filing a claim. When I file a claim, I can get it all done within minutes, and I have my claim fulfilled within 48 hours. The customer service is great, and the price of the plans is worth it. Contrary to what ASURION says, the claim process is NOT super easy. This is based on my experience twice with this company. They make you jump through multiple hoops just to deny your warranty. First you file a claim, then they email you saying you have to fill out a Claim Facilitation Form where you provide all your personal information, the details of the item, and details of the claim which is 2 pages long. After a few days, they ask you to provide photos of the front, back, and serial number of the item. After a few more days, they ask for a video of the item asking to show specifically what is wrong. A few days pass still, and they email you to call their number to speak to an agent where they say your item is not covered. This is how insurance companies make money: by denying your legitimate claims. You are much better off saving this money and putting it in an emergency funds piggy bank. BUYER BEWARE. Read more

When I have concerns something expensive may not last, this is exactly the kind of insurance I want to buy. I've used Asurion successfully twice to get reimbursed for items that did not work their intended life. Both worked over a year but since I had the 2 year protection policy I was able to get full refunds. The process was easy, all it took was just a few minutes to prove the item had failed with pictures / videos or sending back the original broken item with their prepaid shipping label. Read more
