I have a number of Asurion protection plans and I've had good experience if I needed to make a claim. However, it's frustrating that when I buy an item on Amazon along with its associated asurion plan, there is no documentation that ties together the item I purchased and the asurion policy that is associated with it. Sometimes the policy arrives by a email before the item, sometimes after the item. The emails I get with asurion policy information do not mention anywhere in that policy, in that email, what item the policy is covering. It does provide a price range of the item covered, which is a helpful clue. Also, assuming I purchased the item and the protection plan on the same date, both invoices show the same purchase date. Another "clue". But why should I have to follow clues and make inferences to find out information that should be completely evident? For someone who rarely purchases these policies this is probably not an issue. But I've recently purchased several protection plans associated with items I've ordered on Amazon. Because of the issue with matching an item and the associated protection plan, I scrupulously comb through my email daily, watching out for the asurion plans so that I can go through the process of associating it with the (hopefully) correct item. If I see the email with the asurion plan in close proximity to the time I ordered an item, there is a little more certainty that those two are associated. However, I came across an asurion email today that I overlooked earlier in December. I scouted back through my Amazon orders in the Amazon app and sorted through asurion plans in my email app, and I believe that I identified the correct item associated with this plan, but I dislike the uncertainty. I imagine a future time when I try to make a claim on what I think is the associated policy for a defective item only to find out that that is not in fact the correct plan. It would definitely help if the item I order and the associated protection plan were listed on the same Amazon invoice. (If I order any other items on Amazon that I can think of, everything I order at one time is all on the same invoice.) Of course, the most obvious solution would be for a protection plan to simply state the item it is protecting. Read more
My product experienced hardware failure right outside the manufacturer warranty and Asurion had me covered. I contacted them and their automated system sent me a shipping label. As soon as I packaged the item, and it was scanned by the delivery service, I received an Amazon Gift Card balance for the price I paid for it. It was fast, simple and painless on my end. I strongly recommend using Asurion on items that are notorious for defects (video game controllers in particular, stick drift is so common) or short living function. Read more
We purchased ASURION for a family members PS5 controller. The controller stopped working. I filed a claim. It was so simple. Sent the broken controller back and received a Amazon gift card within hours for the replacement. It was so simple to use the ASURION site. I highly recommend purchasing the insurance for your products. Read more
This is the worst extended warranty service I have ever seen. The claim process was annoyingly difficult for obvious reasons! It was very painful to even reach out to the customer support. It is not at all value for money. It is a total scam. They will make you send the product, no matter how difficult it is to send it back. They will also automatically cancel your claim on your behalf for no reason, so you will have to go through ridiciliously long process of filing a new claim! Read more
