So .. this is my first time using Asurion and it was overall a good experience. I purchased an item that lasted just 2 days past my two month return window and then stopped working. The seller's customer support was worse than useless - giving me verifiably wrong information and kept asking for additional information to draw out the conversation until I became exasperated that they were obviously not going to support their product and they were just asking endless irrelevant questions when it was patently obvious that they had sent me a faulty unit. I had hoped that Asurion might help me in procuring a replacement, but they gave me a full refund which was both a blessing and a curse because I *did* get my refund price, but then I had to ship the item back to Asurion (they paid the postage - thank you) and then I still had to purchase the product again from a different company and purchase another Asurion coverage package. If my product had been replaced by the company, I would have been able to continue using the 3 year package that I had already purchased ... so ... at the end of the day, I did not *really* receive a 3 year coverage for the product that I purchased. It feels like a loophole to me. But I'm still grateful that they refunded my purchase price. Overall, a trustworthy company and worth what I paid for it. Thank you! Read more

I purchased the Asurion protection plan for a small appliance. This was my third purchase because their protection plans are reasonably priced and it is worth having the peace of mind. In one of these 3 purchases I had to make a claim. The initial claim resolution was fast. Their customer service is polite and responsive. However, they issued the check to my Amazon user name, which obviously doesn't match any of my bank accounts. This was about 6 months ago. Since then I have repeatedly attempted to contact Asurion, escalated through their management to get the check reissued to the correct name. To date there is no satisfactory resolution. They asked for numerous documents such as my photo ID, proof of purchase of the product and Asurion protection plan, proof of address. I provided everything promptly. I have numerous screenshots of email communication, copy of the old check (issued to the wrong name). My advice, either don't purchase this protection plan, or make sure when registering the product you use the correct name under which any insurance payment should be issued. Read more
