I'm so puzzled reading the comments of others. I tried everything. It is impossible to have one finger on the air hole and the others fit around the bottle and all the time placing it into position without it dripping everywhere. The tube swivels every which way and no way to choose where the water stream will go. And not enough room to get it between your body and the toilet seat. And heaven forbid it would accidently get soiled. Ugh. Is there something I am missing here? Another viewer was tight. You'd do better with a squirt bottle. Update: I noticed that the tube was not securely attached in the lid. That solved part of the problem. But it is still almost impossible to hold the air hole until you're ready to use it. I have had minor issues with all of the bidets, so as I have used one and it comes due for replacement after prolonged use, I cycle to another brand in hopes of finding the holy grail for my butt. This one is hands down my least favorite. I filled water in it once, tested it over the sink to see how it does. And am returning it and writing this review.
