Excellent phone mount, but the wrong one for my car...

J.P.November 30, 2025

I should have looked at the other bracketron model, which is more suitable for what I have. I had an iottie before this one, and it came with a self-adhesive base for the dash itself before you secured the suction cup mount to it. That self-adhesive base is solid on my dash and it would be a waste not to reuse it. So I ordered the other Bracketron, which I am sure will work perfectly for my needs. iotti doesn't make one like the one I'm ordering from Bracketron, and quite frankly, I'm fine with that. I really appreciate the Bracketron's strength. Read more

Easy Installation and Works As Expected

Chem ProfNovember 29, 2025

I have never really been a fan of dash-mounted car accessories, so I selected the Bracketron TripGrip Pro specifically for its vent attachment capabilities. The box includes hardware for both dash mounting and vent mounting, as well as a brief instruction guide and an extra dash mount adhesive pad (photo 1). The phone holder itself is well made and has a fold-down seat for the bottom of the phone to prevent it from sliding out of the holder. The arms on each side are adjustable (they slide forward and backward) to accommodate any thickness of phone or GPS device. Once the phone is placed in the holder, simply squeeze the side arms together for a tight fit (a rachet mechanism holds them in position). The arms are released by a green button on the top underside of the holder, and expand/widen slowly (a damped, not an abrupt release). The vent mount consists of a small plastic hook that fastens to one of the horizontal slats of a dash vent. A thumbscrew on the hardware shaft of the mount is rotated to allow the hook to extend and retract. Once extended fully, the hook is slid through one of the vent openings and latched onto the interior end of a vent slat. Then turn the thumbscrew to retract and tighten the hook against the back of the slat. The mount appears to be quite secure (photo 2). Of course, once the mount is installed, the vertical movement of the vent slats cannot be adjusted – they must be perfectly horizontal for the mount to attach securely, but for me personally, this is not an issue. Depending on the design of the vent, the vertical adjustment of the vent vanes (directing air side-to-side) may be possible. The phone holder is attached to the shaft of the vent mount by placing the ball of the mount inside the receptacle of the holder (once opened), and then tightening the thumbscrew on the holder until secure (photos 3 and 4). This allows flexible orientation of the phone around the ball mount for best viewing conditions. I have not yet operated the vehicle under driving conditions to determine if the phone holder shifts position significantly, but the entire device seems sturdy at rest. My only concern is that the weight of the phone on this cantilevered mount will weaken the attachment mechanism as it may bounce during driving, as it is only a thin plastic hook. Time will tell how robust this design is. Of course, the entire mount can be quickly removed from the vent using the thumbscrew at any time, so this does not need to be a permanent fixture. Based simply on the ease of installation and initial perceived quality of the hardware, I will give it 5 stars, and will adjust accordingly if operating under actual driving experience is warranted. Vent or Dash mount, super easy & secure phone grip w/ special holding parts, nice!

MattCNovember 22, 2025

I have several vent-mount phone holders. I guess I've just been searching for a better mousetrap (so to speak). They all seem to have their plusses and minuses. I got this one for free to evaluate, and after just a few days I can say that it's my favorite so far (other than a fancy powered-rotation, wireless charging version, but that's not even in the same category). All the manual versions I have (you set the phone in the unit and squish the sides in to grip the phone) are very similar, only varying in how the holder sits on and grips the vents, the style and placement of the vent-gripping hook, where the phone-release button is (top or bottom), and finally how it secures the phone in place so it doesn't fly out on bumps (usually with some kind of squish-able foam). This one beats them all in that last category! It's got these gray holding block-pieces that are curvy-shaped, and they stick out a little bit on the front of the phone when you squish the sides in...not enough to block any of the view, but it means I don't have to squish the sides in nearly as hard to make sure it won't fall out. And, this one has one other feature that helps set it above the rest: it's both vent-mount or dash-mount compatible (included are a double-ball joint and a super-adhesive dash mount)...so it's your choice, nice! I included a shot of my wife's phone in the mount. Her phone has a magsafe style charging case, so is fatter than mine, and those gray holding blocks fit it perfectly! Normally I have to squish those arms in pretty tight to make sure our phones don't take a flyer out on the highway, not this one! I'd have put in more pictures but the ones on the page do a really good job, showing everything you would want to see. So I'm giving this 5 stars, both for it's function and value. It's the best of the vent-mount holders I've used. Read more

Great quality holder

ButterflyawayDecember 23, 2025

Unfortunately, I cannot attach pictures because I was in a car accident shortly after installing this phone holder and I won't get my car back for several more weeks. What I can say is that I highly recommend this phone holder. It's great quality, and I really appreciate that I don't have to take my phone out of its case to use the holder. I have one of the largest/heaviest phones on the market, and it still fits. It might even possibly hold a small tablet. There are two adapters, so you can either attach your phone to a vent or to a flat surface in the vehicle. It also comes with two extra pieces of double sided tape if you want to change vehicles or move it to a different position. I really appreciate that when I attach it to a vent, I don't need to use the double sided tape at all. I assumed I could attach it to the car without looking at the instructions, but I couldn't quite figure out how to loosen and tighten it without them. As long as you look at the directions, you should be fine. There are even videos online if you're still struggling. It is very easy to install, it just wasn't intuitive for me. The phone can be turned to face any direction in the vehicle and it makes life so much easier! Read more
