This is a beautiful and well-made pan. I’m eliminating all inherited aluminum cookware, do NOT want coated surfaces of any sort, so I love the stainless steel. I needed something to go from stovetop to oven, and I just don’t trust myself with my big cast iron pan anymore. That said, this isn’t lightweight - it has considerable heft to it and holds a lot as well. It’s helpful to bear in mind the total weight of a full pan. I’m glad I opted for the sauté versus fry pan, as I really needed that extra depth. I would never manage it without the helper handle, which is substantial and easy to grip. The hollow handle does get hot even on the stovetop, so I find it best to treat it like cast iron from that respect. I love cooking with it and while I haven’t yet done it, I can see I could easily roast a chicken in this pan. Cleans up easily and is nice enough to leave on the stovetop, which is a good thing because it takes up a lot of cabinet space! Read more

This is the most frequently used pan in our house. We can cook 3 lbs of ground meat in it! The size is perfect - not sprawling like the 12" frying pan we were using. This fits right over a large burner without overwhelming the rest of the stove. The price was spot on and this thing is so durable it's going to last for ages. The weight is just right that it doesn't feel flimsy but it isn't impossible to handle. Read more

I LOVE THIS PAN!!!!! Excellent heat distribution. I love that it can go right in the oven. I love that it has a handle on the other side. The next meal I'm going to cook in it will be a whole chicken with root veggies. I can no longer use my beloved cast iron pans. They're just too heavy. This pan is the next best thing. Plus I don't have to worry about cooking anything that might react with the iron, like tomatoes or lemons. It's very easy to clean. I burned something last week. I just used some soft scrub. Worked beautifully. I noticed that sometimes it gets a rainbow stain as it dries. I put a capful of vinegar in the pan. Sponged it around, then washed and dried it. Perfect result. The stain honestly doesn't really bother me. But I like that it's very easy to get rid of in case of guests. Read more

After jumping the gun by submitting a disgruntled review, I contacted Cuisinart, who requested I send them a photo of the broken product.....within 3 days, they notified me that a replacement lid was on the way to me! That's good service, so I would recommend this company, but will not be using the lid in the oven. Read more
