While I wish filters overall cost a bit less, this filter seems to be a fair price and performs the best. So certainly the best bang for the buck. I've tried other filters and brands, but this does the best of them all for my Whirlpool fridge. It improved the taste of my water removing whatever was there before. It tastes nearly as good as RO/bottled water if not better in some cases. Obviously water quality depends on your source and location, so your mileage may vary. As a side note, it fixed my ice maker PSI and it started making ice consistently. Which I suppose speaks to the quality of the filter as well. It filters well while not terribly restricting water flow. I'll be buying more in the future. If it goes on sale, I'm stocking up. Read more

Buyer Beware The product being shipped has a plastic tab on top that the older filters did not have. I have contacted Whirlpool and Culligan and those that stock this part supposed to be a good replacement for EDR1 RXD1. I have a attached a copy of a picture that shows the older filter that I purchased where the TAB was NOT on there and it worked. The new one arrives and there is this plastic tab. as a result the new one will NOT fit in. I went to home depot and all their product had this same new tab. What has changed. No one will tell me. AS you can see in the picture below the filter on on the left is the older version of the filter with NO TAB. The one on the right is what Amazon sent (and same as what is now available in the store). The picture on the right shows that there is NO place for this plastic tab to be inserted. I cannot get any support from any one. I'm just going to leave the old filter in place until such time I buy a new fridge. Customer Service is absolutely missing. Read more

I have a KitchenAid KBFS25EWMS refrigerator and this fit perfect for the water filter replacement. Install was simple, just had to twist off the old filter and then twist this guy on. Once installed, I followed instructions to prep the filter and let water flow through the filter. Now the water from my fridge tastes so much better! Read more

Works fine and water tastes much better than my tap water. I can’t tell a difference between this and the name brand in that sense. Installs just as easy as name brand and fits well. It was a little leaky after I first installed it, but that stopped after I ran water through it for a little while. For half price I’ll buy this from now on. Read more
