Laptop is great, but sloppy refurbishing -wrong power supply shipped
Pros Great out of the box. Basic Windows 10 Pro install all ready to go without any problems. Full function test and working well. I like these corporate refurbs but have never bought them from a reseller before. Cons - Cheaper direct from manufacturer. I buy direct from manufacturer almost always but I am traveling and they will not ship to freight forwarding address. Seller refurbish was not very thorough. Incorrect power supply wattage. 65W sent but 180W is the correct unit. When I went to add RAM I discovered a dirty exhaust/cooling fan. 10 seconds to clean it out. SSD (hard drive) not in a cage/housing. Not a functional problem. There is no way to attach this type of SSD without the housing. I'm not opposed to using a hot glue and have temporarily secured it with tape. I will not purchase the correct housing. Read more

Good for the Price
This is a decent laptop for the price. Pros (In general): - Full HD (1920 x 1080) - i5-8400H scores a 7,825 on PassMark benchmark. (Not bad.) - NVME drive slot, so upgrading is no problem. - Two RAM slots, again easily upgrade to a max of 32 GB. - It is very easy to open this laptop and the screws are captured. - 100% Linux compatible. Cons (In general): - Chassis is plastic. - Keyboard and mouse buttons can rub/scratch the display if the laptop is squeezed into a backpack. Recommend putting a microfiber cloth over the keyboard when the laptop is closed. - The display brightness is rubbish. Indoor use is recommended. Cons (Specific to this purchase. Your experience may be different): - Came with a 65W power supply, but the 5491 really needs a 90W to work at peak performance. - The battery is a bit swollen, so I'll probably need to replace it soon. - The laptop was shipped in a simple box with no packing material for cushion. No popcorn or foam or even paper. Just a cardboard box. (But it did come without any damage from shipping.) - The laptop was covered in dust and little hairs. Not sure where this came from, but a wipe down was required to clean it up before use. Read more
