This a is a great laptop with fantastic customer support! Mine arrived in pristine condition. After a few days I noticed the battery level was significantly below the 80% advertised level. I contacted cables4computer about this and told them that I would be satisfied if they sent me a replacement battery that I would install. They replied the next business day that they would do so and were shipping it that same day. I was very pleasantly surprised when I received a 60 watt replacement battery which is an upgrade over the original 42 watt battery. Installation was easy and it works perfectly. The laptop automatically updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 Home when I initially checked for updates. It is almost hard to believe you can get a laptop this powerful with 32GB ram for this price! Purchased this laptop on Amazon through Tekrefurbs. It lasted less than 6 months. Worked ok until a few weeks ago. I went to power it on and nothing. Took it to Geeksquad thinking I just needed a new charger. They tried a couple of different chargers and concluded the motherboard was likely shot. Sent an email to Tektefurbs through Amazon and was told “sorry.” They did absolutely nothing to help me with their terrible product. So, $400+ later, I’m stuck with no laptop. I regret ever trusting these guys to sell a quality product. You can ignore the “grade A” rating, all the bluster about how great their products are. It’s all malarkey. We use Latitude laptops at work, and I wanted to get one for home because I know how reliable, speedy, and lasting they are. When I saw the price for a new one I almost fell of my chair, then I found this refurbished unit and after a little research I decided to get it. So far I'm very happy with it, this used unit is actually newer, with better processor, better memory, and better storage than my current work laptop. I bought this specifically for the specs and functionality. It says the USB-C port can be used for charging. The port seems completely useless, as it does not show any data transfers or power connections. Not a total loss, but given that I already had a completely dead laptop through Amazon already (first one was a dud, had to exchange for a different one), not impressed with the lack of quality on the second one. Not happy that the laptop screen joints are loose. I get that this is a refurbished unit, but I expected what was advertised in quality and condition. The RAM does not pull as much as it should for being a 32GB, which means the hardware itself was either not tested or is faulty, although still acceptable for basic use. The battery life is terrible. Again, probably not actually tested or replaced on the refurb. Overall, it functions okay, but not great. Definitely would not recommend for heavy app use, although for the price, would recommend for someone who just uses a laptop for the basics. Read more

This is replacing a 12 year old Toshiba Satellite. The new Dell is much faster, quieter, and had all the features for a bargain price. Was like new! And came faster than expected via FEDEX (not by LAME USPS which is always slow). Very happy, this will last me a long time! Read more

Originally advertised as coming with Windows 10 staring down end of life, I thought I was buying refurb too old for Windows 11's famous standards. But the hardware specs I saw were up to what I wanna do with this laptop and I use Linux so that drama doesn't affect me. I got the computer with a card enclosed announcing I had gotten a free upgrade to Windows 11. So when I thought I was preventing Windows 10 from starting up until I got my arch-install flash drive to boot. Now mine has Linux instead of Windows. And it's a sweet little computer. Read more

I really appreciate that I was able to work with Tek Refurbs. THe PC is perfect. I plan to use them for future perfects. As far as the laptop itself, people really have no idea how wonderful the Dell 7490 is. Everyone is into Thinkpads, but I've owned this exact model for work for 5+ years, and I have really beat on it, and it has performed extremely well. So well, that I ordered one for my personal use.
