I bought this item as an edc for my Ka-bar. Arrived an hour ago and i gave it a wuick sharpening test. Feels nice to use and you can feel it working. The size is.perfect for the hard sheath of my Ka-Bar. Just wrapped some Paracord aroundnit to keep it in place and the only issue I have is the stonengetting stuck in it but it might be due to me tightening the paracord too tight. A wuick overlook shows good construction. Did a few purpose drops from waist heigh, 6 ft 2 guy, and the stone did hold up and not shatter. I will add more to this review after a couple months about how well this stone maintains a blades edge. 10/10 would recommend Update: after a good 2 weeks of having the stone, it's kept up its quality and keeping my Ka-Bar razor sharp. Great for backpacking. Definitely a wonderful product for my intentions. Read more

This is a great little stone. I have lots of knives and am obsessive about keeping them sharp. I wanted a small stone that I could carry every day to hone my knives in the field or at work. Because I am good about keeping an edge on my blades I pretty much only use the ceramic side of the stone. It was a little rough when it first arrived, (the included paperwork said it would smooth out), after only a few weeks it was nice and smooth. It putts a very nice edge on my knives. The diamond side will remove a lot of material fast so be careful. I used it on a workmates knife which was very dull and you could see the metal coming off. It took no time at all to get his knife sharp. If you have a small nick in your blade the diamond side will make quick work of it. It measures (in inches) 3 15/16 x 1 1/4 x 1/4. It comes with a nice leather sheath. You can easily keep it in your pocket. My only complaint is I wish it had a belt loop on it. I had some leather so I made a sheath with a belt loop for myself. It still gets five stars since I knew this before ordering it. You can see it pictured next to a BenchMade Mini Griptilian and a Helle Harding for size comparison. Read more

I bought this stone blind based simply on recommendations I found on youtube, and I was not disappointed. So far I've found this to be an outstanding sharping stone, although I've only used it for touch ups after using my knife for a bit. I've used it on high carbon steel, AUS8 and M390 blades and it works great on all of them. I originally bought this solely to leave in my bugout/disaster bag but I like it so much it was never actually in the bag, so I'm going to buy a second one to just have around the house to use all the time. If you don't mind the small size (which is ideal for your bushcraft bag) then you should get this one. You will love it. Read more

these stones and the DC3 are amazing, i carry them in my pocket, these are my primary sharpening stones for all manner of knives and axes. you can't beat them. Hands down worth the money. Im not a fan of fallkniven knives due to the majority of their blade profiles being (convex and scandi grind) but I will say their products are of great utility and design and excellent fit and finish. I have bought multiple, multiple stones they last a long time. I carry one of these stones with me almost all the time, if I walk out the door chances are good this is in my pocket. I will say I have washed a couple of them by accident and the glue will come apart =(. the Grit- especially on the diamond/steel part is very coarse at first- but smooths out quickly. I can get a ridiculously sharp edge with just this simple combo pocket stone. highly recommend, worth the money. If you value having a knife- then you want it to be sharp, if you want to keep it sharp this is a great way to always have a ready tool any where. Read more

Brilliant. WONDERFUL size, perfect for carrying around while out in the woods. The grit on both sides is very distinct, and is capable of putting a workable edge on a tool (I tested it on a Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe). It's a very small sized stone, but it's size means it's very easy to maneuver. Perfect for an axe head or a small knife. Comes with a nice faux leather carrying pouch that fits the actual sharpening stone very well. VERY happy with this purchase, I'll probably be buying another for a friend who also is into bushcraft. Paperwork says specifically NOT to use oil/water, as this is not a 'wet'stone per se, but I found that a tiny dab of water helps a bit regardless. Read more

I was concerned cause the name seemed different. but the package clearly says FNDC4. I got this for my backpack to sharpen both a fixed blade knife and my axe. while on the trail. Its perfect 4 inches so fits in the pocket while makes the equipment wickedly sharp (with practice). I'll hold the blade vertical, on my knee, staring straight down the blade. Then hold the stone and do circular motions on the blade, taking care not to remove my finger tips. Rotate the blade 180 deg. and continue. Best sharpening I've done in years. (and no, no oil or water needed. It's meant to be used dry.) I like this so much I got a 2nd one for my kitchen knives. The 2nd one came with the back side of the leather sleeve unfinished. Perfect for stropping a blade while outdoors. (don't bother with stropping compound, the dry leather is perfectly fine. I used to use my leather belt the same way) Read more
