“ I really wanted to love the Akhia Electric Lunch Box. I used to love how quickly it heats up food, especially in the car, and it did a great job cooking the food initially. However, I'm very disappointed with the durability. I bought two of these lunch boxes, and both of the charging cords stopped working after only a short time. Now I have two lunch boxes that are useless unless I buy new cords. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for very long before the cords fail. I wouldn't recommend it given the cord issues." Read more

Useful item when used with caution
I've used this a few times at work. They aren't kidding about "fast heating" and I've found that I don't want to leave this plugged in much longer than 15-30 minutes depending on the food temp at start. There is a particular spot on the bottom that gets too hot, leaves burned food on the surface. Since this is pretty new, it cleaned off fairly easily with a "magic eraser" sponge. I've tried lining the sides and bottom with heavy aluminum foil, which lessened the burn mark, but still an issue. I've only put this in a wall outlet, cannot comment on the car outlet adapter. This gets HOT!
This works so well that you really have to check your food or it can burn a little. So far I've reheated spaghetti and tried to make White Castle sliders in it. It comes with two power cord options. One for 12v and one for 110. The 110 works awesome as expected. The 12v option takes a lot of power so make sure if you use this in a vehicle that its running all the time this is plugged in. I have a 300kw battery bank. It will power the lunch box with the 110 but it will not power it with the 12v plug. It gets HOT! 30 to 45 minutes is all it needs so keep an eye on this thing. Read more
