My weight seems to fluctuate with each season. As such, most of my belts have had additional holes punched in them in order to accommodate those fluctuations. After awhile they eventually weaken, become misshapen and uncomfortable or, ultimately, just fail altogether. I'd never really heard of a ratcheting belt before, but it seemed like a novel solution to my belt problems, so I gave it a shot. I wasn't really expecting much, tbh. I was pleasantly surprised, but I wanted it to give it a month or so of wear before reviewing. So it's been about a month and I can honestly say I've never had a belt that has worked so well for me or been as comfortable as this one by GAEKEAO. It was easy to cut to size when I got it. Just release the buckle from the belt, trim it to size with a scissors, and reattach it. Easy. Once it's ready to go, it's easy to tighten and adjust to your waist size. Easy to tighten or loosen as necessary as the day goes on. Tighten by pulling on the end of the belt, loosen using the small lever on the underside of the belt. And it really is "micro-adjustable", with the distances between ratchet notches being about 5/16". The total length of the ratchet strip is 9". Theoretically you can gain or lose a couple inches and still utilize this belt properly. Best of all, no hole punching necessary! As this was a Vine feed for me, I got it for nothing. Currently it's selling for around $13.00 and I'm probably going to pick up another of a slightly different design. It's more than just a gimmick. It really works much better than traditional belts. These days I prefer ratchet belts over the traditional variety. The versatility and adjustability of the biggest pros of ratchet belts. This one from GAEKEAO is no exception. It comes in a nice box that could double as a gift box. The belt itself seems to be of good construction. The back side of the belt has markings denoting the different sizes, in case you need to cut it down to size. A note of caution, make sure you have sized it appropriately before connecting the buckle to the belt. The teeth that bite into the belt to attach the buckle are very secure. While that is good, it does make reopening the clasp to re-size the belt difficult. I had to use a screwdriver to pry it back open. My one complaint is that it didn't come with instructions. Given that you need to attach the buckle to the belt, and that this may serve as a gift, instructions would be useful. In fact, after putting it on, I had to consult the Amazon listing to figure out how to remove it. All the other ratchet belts that I've used, you lift up the buckle to loosen it. I’ve never heard of a ratchet belt before, but it is brilliant. Slide the belt into the clip and pull until it is the correct tightness. It is like a zip-tie but belt size. To release, there is a lever under the buckle. Lift and the belt slides back out. Easy. The belt has a pattern almost like carbon fiber up close, and at normal distance, looks almost fabric with a shine. Hard to describe, but it looks really nice and could be a dress belt or regular wear. I ordered the solid dark metal buckle and it also looks nice. One tip is to order larger than you need if you are unsure. The buckle comes apart from the belt and it would be easy to trim the hidden end. I wear between a 32 and 34 and the 26/34 size fits perfect with about 4.5” coming out of the buckle after tightening. Read more

This thing just looks great, black on black with a textured almost carbon fiber like look. The belt is easily cut to size with common scissors, even provides length markers on the back and cut lines. The ratchet system is something I have never encountered before and difficult to explain. Un the backside of the belt is a strip of catches incrementally that the metal buckle clicks to almost like a zip tie. The buckle has a small level on the bottom to release the ratchet with a simple finger press. The system works so smoothly and quietly. The only minor issue I noticed was the black leather covering of the belt sometimes get small bubbles when laid out flat that smooth out when the belt is applied around you. I am a big fan of this belt and hope it holds up and lasts. Read more

I needed a belt for a wedding and this was perfect. The finins on the leather is really nice and I love the carbon fiber buckle. It fit well on dress pants and I like how clean it looks and how easy it is to cut to size so its always perfect for me. 5/5 stars, exactly as advertised and it looked great in the wedding pics :) Read more

nicer belt than I was expecting. it comes in a lovely little box so it makes a great gift. the buckle isn't attached yet, but it's easy to do and you can even trim it down if it's a bit long before doing so. If you're in between sizes at all, this is helpful, as it's easy to cut down what you don't need. also you can hook the buckle in anywhere, you dont have to wait for a hole, which is super convenient, and it stays in place reallly well surprisingly, ,despite only having that little tab. looks unique and isn't too dressy, perfect for an everyday belt even.
