Gotcozy Heated Mattress Pad Mini Twin Size 31x55 - Electric Mattress Pad with 9 Heat Settings 10 Hour

First off, I just received this Cozy heated mattress pad, only used overnight and done some power usage testing since I will be using this while camping and with a power station. The title says it all, just a first impression. High hopes it will be durable and long standing. The fabric to me not such a selling point, it will be under my bedsheet so it's irrelevant in my case, it's decent overall, snugs well around my 14" mattress and the surface nicely runs the edge of the mattress surface. This thing gets extremely hot, in no situation do I see myself using any of the higher settings 4-6, to preheat my bedding in a faster duration I guess. Lvl 1 was a very comfortable warmth for sleeping conditions with light comforter. Lvl 2 was good if you were cold and wanted to warm up, Lvl 3 would be great for soreness and muscle relief but anything higher in my opinion is just overwhelming for any duration of time. I placed a probe between the sheet and comforter with a starting temperature of 76.6 degrees, placed heat setting to max of 6. It started out pulling 142watts initially and as it heated up the wattage flattened out to 120-125w. In 20 minutes the temp between mattress and comforter was 109.6°f. An increase of 33° in my bedding. At the 25min mark it was 115° and seemed to stay in that realm, that is incredible heat! When it reaches it max heat temperature the blanket seems to toggle power on for 2 seconds then back off for 2 seconds, runs half the time so it would consume roughly 60wh every hour. Lvl 5 runs 2 seconds and off for 4 seconds, Lvl 4 runs 2 seconds and off for 6 seconds etc. lowest setting which is what I would consider the most favorable for me will run 2 seconds and stay off for 12 seconds, only consuming about 20wh each hour, this thermostat feature is efficient! So 160wh for 8hrs sleep on Lvl 1. Hope that helps anyone who was planning to use this offgrid and curious of it's consumption. Usage goes up obviously, should you feel the need to run at higher settings so you'll have to do that math with the numbers above to see what your usage might be and also know that these numbers are for each side, this is a queen with 2 separate elements and using both sides will obviously double the usage rates. That being said, I think most will find 1st setting to be more than enough and maybe even too much for some. Add an extra layer over the blanket in that scenario. Crossing my fingers that this product will last and not have any failures, that has yet to be determined but I will say that at this price and how it has initially performed, I would easily buy a new one every year if I needed to lol, this thing is great for my needs! The buttons on the outside ring of the controller do not light up so that could be an issue for some in low lighting, there are only 4 buttons to remember however and the center heat lvl and timer numbers are lit up so you can navigate the buttons that way as I have, not an issue in my circumstance. PROS; Fit the king bed perfectly, and has easy to use and understand controllers. It heats evenly and gives a warm welcoming bed on cold winter nights. CONS; The plugs for the power lay on top of the mattress pad so if you have them at the bottom, where most people would put them, your feet hit the plugs. If you put the plugs on the top, your hand hits them if you are a side or stomach sleeper. Sadly that seems to be the current design model for electric mattress pads these days (dumb design). Perfect fit & very comfortable with even heat distribution & good padding over wires. Higher temperature settings would be way too hot to sleep with, but would be good to heat a cold bed up in a hurry. Lower settings give a great night's sleep.
