I only have used a regular box-style grater for the past 30 years. I also only use it for grating potatoes into a hot frying pan to make hash browns. But it's always been messy, oil splashing everywhere, trying to keep the grater in position while hot oil is splashing on your hands, etc. I honestly didn't have high expectations when I bought this thing but after using it for the first time, which was yesterday, I'll never buy another regular grater again (at least for what I use it for which is potatoes). The bottom suction feature is very strong, that thing does not move when you use it. I suctioned it onto the stove, slid my hot pan right next to the mouth of the grater, and grated a very large russet potato which deposited the shreds directly into the pan. I had to slice the potato in half lengthwise so it would fit, but other than that it was awesome. I shredded the potato in less than 30 seconds, no slicing my fingers, no hot oil splash, no hashbrowns all over the stove. Very easy to disassemble and rinse out. Great little machine. Read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality. After reading other reviews suggesting that because it is primarily plastic it wasn’t very “sturdy” and lacked proper countertop suction it performed well. I pulled a block of cheese straight from the refrigerator and had perfectly grated cheese in less than two minutes. You do need to stop and make sure to remove the grated cheese so it doesn’t get blocked inside. Disassembling for clean up was easy and washed well in the dishwasher on the top rack. Love, love, love this grater! Goodbye scraped knuckles and hello to a brick of cheese in delicious strands in under 2 minutes. Easy to assemble, easy to turn handle and easy to clean. The suction cup holds well, did have it slip once. So far I've grated cheese, both hard (parm) and soft (mozz) both were easy and fast. I have only done carrots and zucchini and the both performed well also. I love that the color matches my kitchen decor. Wish I would have tried this one before wasting money on hand graters and mandolins. Read more

Works fine although I had to pull the cheese out of the tumbler. Cut very easy. Suction was fairly week for what you need but works ok if you are pushing down hard enough. I question durability and don’t recommend pushing down too hard as it may crush the thin metal barrels. I see others saying it has been an issue. For now it is working great though and is much healthier than store bought shredded cheese. Read more

I love Romano pecorino cheese! This little gadget grated my Romano pecorino cheese in no time. I find it very easy to use and easy to clean. The key is to press down on the grater from the top while locking the suction cup for stronger attachment to the surface. Also, you have to make sure that you're turning the handle in the right direction. So, if you see that it's not working, try turning the handle in the opposite direction of the way you were turning. I'm not able to simple say right or left because it depends where you place the grater and where you are standing in relation to the grater. The grater is definitely a good product to have. I have been suffering through using my regular cheese grater for years. Finally caved in and bought this one. It is so much easier to use than hand grating cheese. Definitely worth the cost if you grate your own cheese more than once a week. I like the vegetable slicer as well - makes perfect potato chips and so much safer for my fingers than my mandoline. The only thing that isn't perfect is the suction to keep it steady. It comes loose on my counter, but that could just be my counter not being the right kind of surface? Still worth it. Read more

We love this thing! Nothing beats fresh shredded cheese. Super easy to use and great when you're trying to do large amounts of shredding. Used it once to make hash-browns too and worked great! Suction works great to keep it in place. The cranking mechanism is made of plastic though and I can feel it flex a bit, so be careful not to crank it too hard. Read more
