Parker 56R Heavyweight Double Edge Safety Razor with 5 Parker Premium Platinum Stainless Steel Razor Blades Classic 3

I am an experienced safety razor user. I only say this because it matters when you buy these razors. Some are designed for beginners so they don't cut up their face, legs, arms, etc. when using it to shave. I have owned a Parker razor, but it was a butterfly open type and I do not recommend buying it because it fell on the shower floor a few times and became almost impossible to get the blade lined up. This 56R Heavyweight razor is like it says. Heavy. It is also solidly constructed. Not adjustable. If you are new to safety razors I recommend that you find a razor you can adjust, and Merkur makes a nice adjustable razor that is spendy but it is nice, I own it. It is gold colored, has a shorter handle. But for this review I can say I have used this razor to shave my face and my body and it works great, is relatively safe (for a safety razor) as long as you pay attention and it shaves super close which I love for my face. Parker razors are a bit pricey, ridiculously so. Not the case with this model. It looks good. But more importantly, it has heft and glides smoothly, allowing for a great shave. Read more

This razor is high quality and ticks all the right boxes if you want a “heavier” razor with a longer handle AND (it’s a big “and”) are NOT looking for an aggressive razor. This is a comfortable, moderate shaving razor that would work for somebody who shaves daily, shaves quickly or even wants to switch to a safety razor for the first time. This my second Parker heavy DE razor. The one I have gives consistently great shaves with Personna Israeli Red blades so I expected no less from this shaver as well. I had my first shave with the just delivered razor and blades. I'm happy to report both blade and razor delivered a BBS shave right out of the box. Highly recommended! Read more
