Purchasing again since my previous one finally stopped working
I originally purchased this hair dryer at my local TJ Maxx for like $25 after taxes. Lasted me 9yrs. 9 WONDERFUL years, I might add. It's a great dryer; my wash and go's were even more amazing because of it. Finally had to replace it because the plug adapter box thingy cracked, and the parts in the adapter shifted around to where I couldn't get it to work when plugged in. The dryer and its attachments are still intact, and probably if I were handy with restorations, could have just fixed it, but alas, I'm not. I decided to at least keep the concentrated nozzle and diffuser attachments as back-ups for my new one that is on the way since it is the exact same model. Of course, a lot can change in 9yrs; we'll see if it's still built to last like my original one. The only reason I got it at Amazon and decided not to try looking for it at TJMaxx again is that I simply don't have the time with my busy schedule; having it shipped directly to me is far more convenient, albeit more money. But that's fine with me. All I can say is, it's a great hairdryer; I enjoyed it the 9yrs that it lasted. I see others with similar stories saying theirs lasted them 7yrs before needing to finally replace theirs. It only comes with a 1yr warranty but it will last you far past that time. Anyway, as long as you take really good of this dryer, it will last you a very long time. It is very powerful and dries hair very quickly. Or really, anything else you need dried quickly such as your lace unit, human hair weaves/wigs, anything you can think of. This dryer can get the job done. I mostly used it for my natural hair, but I have also used it when attaching lace units and needed to get the adhesive or glue to dry quicker. I've also used it to dry my lace tinting spray faster, never had any of the tinting spray bleed onto my hands or clothes or hair. This thing really does what it is supposed to do. Try not to be a clutz like me and make sure you never drop it. That was why the plug adapter box cracked, because of an accidental drop a couple years ago. I was still able to use it for a couple more years even with the crack, just had to finesse it a type of way when plugging it in. But now that a small part in the plug loosened up and shifted around, it no longer works which is why I'm replacing it. Anyway, hope your GEM Force serves you well like it did for me! Can't overlook the fact it lasted me nearly a decade. Worth every penny in that regard. I rocked it until the wheels fell off, that's for sure lol. Read more
