We have a rescue pup 55 pounds and estimated about 10 months old. So, he is pretty strong and still a puppy. He is sweet natured, but prone to play too rough. He liked to jump on us and always pulled strongly on a leash when we tried to walk him. I tried pinch collars and special leashes, and while he did better walking, it wasn't great and I usually ended up with a sore shoulder. And, they did not solve our other issues. It was hard to enjoy him in the house because he acted so wild. Well ---- I bought this collar and it has been a total game changer. We do not even have to use the shock mode. He responds to the beep and the vibrator mode. It is unreal. He will immediately sit down and get calm and then we can pet him and enjoy his company. I took him for a walk with it for the first time this morning and I felt like I was walking a different dog. We may have gone about 20 feet with me having to push the beep and vibrate and after that, he walked in a perfect heel position for 3 miles. The charge has lasted almost 2 weeks, as we only use it at night and for walks. I love this collar and I love that we can enjoy our puppy so much more and my husband no longer is having to doctor scratches up and down his arms. Read more

I was hesitant to get a collar like this because I’ve always been worried about it not being “very nice.” I don’t think it should ever be used as the FIRST option but I am thankful to have this as AN option. I’ve tried EVERYTHING else to get my dog’s behavior under control. He is constantly growling at, and intimidating my other animals (cats and dogs alike), gets into the trash, tears up my blankets, barks constantly and has even recently started physically attacking the cats. I’m exhausted…physically, mentally and emotionally. I feel like ALL I do every waking moment is yell at him, put him in “time out”, redirect him, clean up his messes, comfort my other pets that he’s terrorized, etc. It’s time to do some serious behavior modification. Like I said, I don’t think this should ever be the first choice…but I am very thankful that I now have this as an option and I am optimistic that this is what will finally make a difference. Fingers crossed. The ONE and ONLY thing I have a problem with is the ability to shock a dog for 10 consecutive seconds. I think that it WAY excessive and unfortunately there ARE people that will lose their patience, get angry and do that to their dog (not as redirection but as punishment for their anger.) I do think that constitutes abuse. I think the maximum consecutive time should be changed to 3 consecutive seconds. I strongly urge the company to take this into consideration and change that particular setting/capability. Read more

As a rookie dog training collar user, this one is easy enough to set up and operate. No issues with battery life. Last for at least several days of full day usage without charging. The remote isn’t too big and simple operation. I like that this collar has a longer distance range than many others. It took some trial and error figuring out the effective fit around my dog’s neck but that’s on me. I started with the silicone caps on the probes but soon realized that it wasn’t effective enough to penetrate through her coat with the caps on. Much more success and progress since removing the silicone caps or covers. There is a learning curve with the setting intensity as well. Every dog is different. In my dog’s case, I’ve had to gradually increase the intensity as she gets acclimates throughout the progression. Consistency is also key to success ... that was absent initially due to various factors. Starting to notice improvement with consistent use. Yay! Update - there is one issue with the adjustable collar. It doesn’t have notches like a belt and tends to loosen regularly from normal wear. It’s a problem when the collar moves around the neck and the probes don’t have proper placement on the neck. May be harmful in shock mode. I mostly use tone and vibrate modes so not too concerning. Just be aware. Read more

Hello! My boyfriend and I got this for our pup due to some bad biting, barking, and other troublesome problems. He is a mix puppy (Husky, Great Pyrenees, and German shepherd) so he has thick skin/fur. The collar is perfect the battery life is great and so is the rang. The sound option has different settings and definitely catches the dogs attention when needed. The vibration option has multiple settings as well, it also is set high enough that it catches his attention. Now the shock feature is interesting. I personally do not agree with the need to put 99 levels, we tested the collar on ourselves so we knew we wouldn’t hurt him or shock too hard. We couldn’t get past level 16 so I highly recommend for fairness and to have an understanding of what you are going to do to your pet, you should also test it on yourself. We don’t use anything past setting 5 for shock. The light is a little dim but still shines enough for us to see him and for him to see the ground. There is a great safety feature for kids as well it should be hard to actually shock your dog without full knowledge on how to properly work both the collar and remote. Over all I highly recommend this one but please be responsible. :) Read more

The "complete training guide by a professional dog trainer" is nothing more than a folded piece of paper with instructions on how to charge the unit and what each button does. I wrote the seller and told them I didn't receive the training guide mentioned in the description, and they emailed me with a PDF of the same folded piece of paper that came with the collar and a mention of a 4-minute video in the product description that basically just has the same info about charging the unit and what the buttons do. That is not what I think of when I hear "complete training guide by a professional dog trainer." I want to make sure I use this collar properly and responsibly, so I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for how to actually use the collar correctly for training sit, stay, come, etc. The product is good, just the description needs to be changed of what comes with it.
