I've had several types of graters over the years. Some higher priced name brands among them. This is by far the BEST grater I have ever owned. There are lots of reasons. First, it's so easy to use - just twist the suction device on to your counter (it has to be a very smooth and clean counter), then select whichever grater size you want, assemble it (super easy), put in your carrots, or cheese, or whatever, and then turn the wheel - and immediately you have your sliced or grated product. After you are finished the device comes apart VERY easily for a quick and easy clean up. I use it almost weekly to grate parmesan cheese - and also the sharp cheddar that my wife likes. The suction isn't perfect, but I've noticed that it is very difficult to find anything that secures perfectly. I highly recommend this grater. You won't be disappointed. Read more

Very simple to use and it does a nice job. If you wipe the suction cup with a damp dish cloth before sticking it to the counter it works great. It's easy to change grating/slicing blades until the handle snap connector breaks. Ours broke about a year in. I drilled a hole through the handle and all the graters to be able to stick a nail through it as a pin to hold it together. That worked for another 3 years until the clear part broke where it attaches to the base. All we ever used it for was cheese, mostly Parmesan and Pecorino. If this were made a little more robust so it was more durable overall it would be 5 stars. I'd fork out the money for an all stainless version if they made it available. I got this grater slicer because I was tired of finding ones that fall apart and break real fast. I needed something my mom and I could use with ease as we both have arthritis in our hands. It's easy to clean and turning the handle is pretty smooth. The only thing I don't like much is the suction. You have to press down very firmly onto the surface you want it to suction to but otherwise it's a decent product for the price and easy to use. My 77 year old mother can use this pretty easy! Note: this is mainly for left handed people and it works better if you use it that way. We are all right handed other than my son but we just move it where we can use our left hands to crank the handle as cranking it with the right hand is a little confusing because of the direction you have to crank the handle.
