These are beautiful knives, I love the knife block too. The knives are very sharp and well balanced. The set is solid metal and appear very sturdy. I like that the knives don't have a separate handle, it's one solid piece of metal. These knives require handwashing and immediate drying, so they are higher maintenance, but very worth it. I LOVE these knives! I read some independent reviews on knife sites, and the experts liked them, so I took a chance. SO glad I did! I've used them every single day since I bought them and haven't needed to sharpen any of them yet! They feel nice in the hand, have a very nice weight and balance to them, and cut beautifully. One of the things I really appreciate about this set is that every single knife is useful! In sets, you often wind up with knives you never use. In this set, you'll use every single one of them! I have rarely been as pleased with an "unknown" purchase as I have with these knives! I've had Henckels, Wusthof, and Global... and honestly, I would rank these right alongside them, but at a price point far more reasonable for the average person. The block they come in is lovely, also with a nice weight, and for those who need it, a built-in sharpener. I sharpen my own knives, so no idea how good the sharpener is. The knives themselves are pretty on the counter, too. Not the first thing to look for in knives, but it doesn't hurt when a useful object is also pretty! The only caution - and the recommendations from the company mention it - is that you should NOT put these in the dishwasher. Hand wash, dry immediately, and store. You shouldn't ever put a good knife in the dishwasher, so that's no problem for me. The media could not be loaded. These knives are absolutely fabulous! I've been looking at knife sets for the past year and nothing really stood out to me until I saw this set. I was a bit trepidatious about buying them because of the small crowd of naysayers, but I am so glad I purchased these! A few things to know: They are super sharp I find the weight of the knives to be perfect Some people complained about the block being lightweight... I don't get that at all; it's not only attractive but it is a good heavyweight block A couple of people called the knife sharpener that's integrated into the top right hand corner 'gimmicky' but I haven't found that to be true at all. I am pretty much in the habit already of giving each night by views a rents a towel dry and a few passes through that sharpener, and these blades are just pristine! I also REALLY appreciate that the knives all come as one stainless steel piece. Not only does it make the set look quite stunning, there's no dealing with the disappointment of having wooden handles splitting or having all kinds of spots for bacteria to grow or getting moldy. I'm thrilled with this knife set, I think it's perfect for any home cook. So glad I treated myself to these! Although I should note that I got them on sale Used like new, I can honestly tell you I have zero regrets. These knives are quite sharp and impressive out of the box. The storage block is well constructed as well. So why only 4 stars? Two reasons: first I am not very impressed with the sharpener. It does not restore the factory sharpness, not even close! Second, I'm a bit disappointed that these knives didn't hold their edge for very long before needing to be sharpened. I can pretty much replicate the factory edge on my high end electric sharpener, but not the sharpener built into the block. One more thing, some of the reviews I read before my purchase complained about the knives rusting after being washed, and recommended hand washing and drying them as opposed to using the dishwasher. I have only hand washed and dried them, I do not leave them sitting in water until I wash them, and have not found a speck of rust on any of them! Read more

Excellent knives and great customer service. The knives are beautiful and extremely sharp. The block that holds the knives is also gorgeous and has a built in sharpener. The instructions did not address the built in sharpener so I contacted them and they immediately sent me a video on how to properly use the sharpener. This company clearly cares about their products, their reputation and their customers. I suspect these knives will last a long time and work very well. Read more

Non serrated steak knives are included with this set! Not too common these days. Do your own taste test of steak cut with a serrated knife vs regular and you'll probably not want to use serrated again. Read more
