I read through plenty of reviews and looked at a bunch of different knife sets. I watched review videos and other videos to learn about knife blocks as I have wanted one for quite some time. This block and set is gorgeous. It looks INCREDIBLE on my kitchen counter and the knives are sharp. Very sharp. I easily sliced through several sheets of paper with a couple of different included knives. It chopped up some garlic, onion, and broccoli with ease. I used the included shears to cut things my normal scissors couldn't even touch with ease. The knives look and feel like I'm working with top of the line equipment. They are balanced and feel great in the hand. I've only had them for a couple of weeks but have followed the advice I've seen online to immediately hand wash and/or wipe them with a towel and they have kept their shine and sharpness perfectly without any rust spots. The knives are beautiful, but more important, they are incredibly sharp. We are beyond pleased with this purchase!! Word of caution, do not clean them in the dishwasher. They are fine knives that should last a lifetime if cared for properly. Read more

These knives are great. The wooden holder is small so it doesn’t take up a lot of space on my counter but large enough to hold everything I need. The knives are extremely sharp plus good looking… and my husband especially appreciated the one-piece knife/handle design. My last set had wooden handles and this set seems like it will last so much longer and is also easily cleaned. Read more

I bought this set to replace another block of knives that I have had for seven or eight years. In general, I like this set. All the knives arrived hyper-sharp; I have already cut myself two times. They are so sharp that it's almost like you can get cut just thinking about them. That's a good thing. However, I don't like how much of a footprint they take up on my counter. My last set, which you can see in the picture, takes up a much smaller amount of space. This new set juts out and makes itself known like it has self-esteem problems or something. (Overcompensate much?) Also, I really, REALLY dislike how the scissors are located in the middle of the block. How is that a good idea?! The knife underneath it is almost guaranteed to at some point slice into the rubber handles of the scissors. Not a great design. Am I going to keep it? Of course. The construction in general is good, the knives are sharp, and I like the style. I just wish it didn't take up so much space And I wish the layout were a bit different. I will be sure to check this with the next knife block set that I buy. (If you have discerning eyes, you will have noticed that the knives on the bottom row are put into the block upside down. That is a pro tip that I pass along to you: The sharp edge of the knife never comes into contact with the block itself, which keeps the knives sharper over time. You are welcome.) Four stars instead of five because the block takes too much space, when it really doesn't need to, and those darn scissors are right smack in the middle where it is incredibly inconvenient. SHARP. This is going to sound like a negative thing but by no means am I complaining. When I say these knives came out of the box swinging I am not kidding! These knives are sharp and first of all I love this. I love the fact that they are sharp because who doesn't love a sharp knife; but I cannot tell you how many times I have accidentally cut myself and not know that I have. I won't know until I have looked at my hand later. Once again this is not a complaint! This is a user error in every sense of the word. I need to be more cognizant of what I'm doing on the kitchen.
