I received this beautiful, premium knife set of 15 knives by KnifeSaga and I've been completely wowed by them! I've had the opportunity to use these knives now for about 2 weeks, trying to utilize each one to test it out. I'll admit, even after 35 years of cooking dinners for family and friends, I knew very little about the importance of having top quality cooking knives and utensils in your kitchen. Before even using any of the knives, I read the enclosed informational piece that told a little about how to care for the knives, what to do and what not to do. I didn't even know what I didn't know about quality knives. (lol). The blade of these knives is constructed with high quality, high carbon stainless steel which is flawlessly integrated right into the handle, as though it were one solid piece. The knives are heavier than the average knife and that's due to the quality of the stainless steel. The set comes with a knife sharpener and for those of you who don't know how to sharpen knives with this rod type sharpener, there's directions on the inside of the user manual. These knives will last a very long time with proper care. They should be hand washed only with hot water and soap and then dried immediately to prevent any rust spots from forming on the blade. Once dried, simply put it into the dedicated slot on the wooden block. There's a quality made pair of kitchen scissors, which I was able to use to cut up a whole chicken with ease. The set also comes with 6 steak or dinner knives which are not serrated, but are extremely sharp and able to cut through a steak like it's butter! I think every kitchen should have a good bread knife and this set comes with a very durable, long blade serrated bread knife which has been an awesome tool to use at dinner as we usually always have fresh baked bread. This quality made set comes with every type of knife for every type of meal preparation, from meats and cheeses to vegetables and fruits. I realized while using them that I was able to prepare my items much faster and much more uniform which helps so much during the cooking process. If you look closely at the large vegetable knife, you can see these round divots which are purposely crafted into the knife to allow (for example) your tomatoes to release from the knife blade with ease as you go to slice the next piece. I'm just so impressed with this set and I believe it to be a proper kitchen investment. The entire set of knives fit perfectly into the slots in the wooden block. The wooden block is very heavy and is designed with rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding around and to protect your counter surface. This knife set would make an excellent wedding gift or a gift to a new homeowner as it’s genuinely a top quality set and so reasonably priced. I highly recommend this set. Read more

Super sharp! This 15-piece knife set consist of Kitchen Shears, a Sharpening Steel, 6 different kitchen knives (paring, utility, chef’s, slicing, santoku, and bread), 6 steak knives, and a heavy wooden storage block. The set replaces a hodgepodge of knives I have been using around the house for the longest time. I have four different styles of knives I have accumulated…I have to keep my sharpening steel in a slide out shelf under one cabinet, my kitchen shears in a kitchen drawer, and my steak knives go in a drawer in my living room (no room in the kitchen). The Kitchen Knives I have been using are in one holder on the kitchen counter, but the handle material is chipping off and they look terrible, AND the holder can be a little “tippy”. This set incorporates all those pieces in one place in a very attractive package. The storage block is light wood and very heavy, but the four “feet” on the bottom allow me to move it around on the countertop if I need to. The great part about the weight is that it won’t tip over when I pull a knife out, like my old upright cylindrical holder. And having the steak knives included on the block is great. The handles are ABS plastic attached to a full tang. Balance on the three longer, heavier blades (Chef’s, Santuko, Bread) is right at the narrow end of handle behind the blade. The rest of the knives are weighted more to the rear of the handle. Regardless, they all feel good in the hand, and the grip feels secure. This is a good thing, because these knives are EXTREMELY sharp! Blade edges are beveled at 10 degrees which makes them extremely good at slicing…I used one of the steak knives an a piece of reheated, recently thawed, thick crust pizza (which had become inordinately tough)….anyway, the steak knife went through it effortlessly! The heat-treated cutting edge should keep the edge sharp longer than an untreated edge. A high carbon blade will be easier to sharpen than a stainless steel, but it is somewhat prone to rust. Good knife maintenance will keep these knives in fine shape for a long time: handwash only and dry thoroughly; use a little food-safe oil on the blades occasionally; and use a “rust eraser” or other rust remover if spots appear. Great set of knives! Read more

We have needed new knives for over a decade because our originals were in such rough shape. These feel like a completely different universe than our old ones, even when they were new. I'm not usually a fan of knife blocks either but this one is open all the way to the bottom so no weird hidden mold will happen, especially if you take care of them and make sure they are dry. I've used this knife set literally every single day since they arrived. Sharpness is 10/10. Every knife cuts so nicely, they just glide. Tomatoes are cake to cut. There are many different sizes for various kitchen jobs. I like that it comes with a honing rod as well to help keep that sharpness. I'll be honest that I don't know the difference between japanese high carbon and regular old knives but it's lightyears away from our colorful, flaking walmart set. I had one professional chef knife previously and it feels on par with that one. The bread knife is probably my favorite. It's serrated but not jagged and doesn't require a ton of effort to get through a baguette. The other thing that stands out to me is the design of the knives. The metal goes all the way down through the middle of the knife handle to the base. It's not just stuck in a hole in the middle so it shouldn't break at the handle. This is by far the highest quality set that I've ever had. Read more
