This is a good tool to have in your bicycling safety arsenal. I specifically chose this for Los Angeles commuter riding because, unlike other gloves, this one has decent padding for the palm side as well as ample padding for the back side including knuckles, fingers and some for the wrist. A lot of the gloves I researched had good to great padding for the palm but nothing for the back side, leaving it vulnerable to serious injuries in the event of an unfortunate fall or accident. I also like the fact that this is a full finger glove meaning protection for the entire finger and not just a part of it (especially for similar price). I prefer a little more gel padding for the palm and wrist areas as well as neon (lime green) highlights to help it stand out during the day for driver visibility as well. I realize that it was designed primarily for a mechanic and not for a bicyclist, but the features are a smart fit for an all around safety conscious commuter biking. (You have to protect yourself whether you look super cool or not. Hit-and-Run-ners won't stop to call 911 for you and pay for your insurance too!) No complaints about the gloves yet (4 weeks of use) whatsoever. (And please, please wear your helmet to protect your head/brain! Risking your life/longevity just so you/your hair looks cool & sexy, may not be the smartest mobile public advertisement of yourself.) Read more

This is my second pair of Mechanix gloves. The first pair I owned were the Impact Pro model, although the current design of that particular product differs from my old pair slightly. First of all - my Impact Pros were perfect in every way imaginable. They were consistently comfortable, durable, and saved my hands from a plethora of would-be finger breakers. I used them to renovate an entire house (demolition, drywall, roofing) and over the course of three years, they lasted with minimal wear and tear. I had to replace them because I accidentally left them behind on a recent trip, so I figured I should take a step up. These M-Pact IIs take everything you'd expect from a Mechanix glove and tweak it to the max. These gloves are comfortable, allow for tremendous dexterity, and provide more than adequate protection in a wide variety of tasks. As soon as I got these in the mail, I slid them on and built a solid reloading bench in the basement. They were as comfortable as if I had owned them for months prior breaking them in. Anyone looking for a comfortable, reliably durable and protective glove, BUY THESE! Read more

I recently took up choreographed lightsaber fighting and bought these gloves to protect against accidental hits to my hands. They worked great for this purpose, really liked these gloves. They drove me nuts though, there was a *huge* seam right at the tip of the pointer finger right where the nail was, so it was constantly getting caught in my nail bed underneath the nail. Another member of the same choreography troupe with the same gloves said he had the same issue, so I can't trump it up to just being my gloves, probably just a design issue. I did go to Mechanix Wear's website and use their sizing chart. If not for that annoying seam these gloves would have been perfect. I tried cutting the seam down a bit, but as expected I ended up just splitting open the tip of the pointer finger on the gloves. They were actually really comfortable at that point, but they didn't look good. I ended up getting another pair of Mechanix Wear gloves (Mechanix Wear M-Pact MPT-72 Brown), a size up (THESE gloves I got as a 9 since the sizing chart said that, the new gloves are a size 10). The new gloves fit comfortably (if slightly loose), and while there's the same sort of seam at the tip of the pointer finger I don't really feel it a size up - albeit they are different models of glove. MORAL OF THE STORY: You might wanted to consider getting a size larger than they suggest because of the weird seams they put at the tips of the fingers. Very high quality glove though, I'd buy it again. Read more

I bought these gloves maybe 8 months ago and they are the best gloves I've ever owned!! I use these gloves for outside work. These gloves have kept my hands warm while shoveling snow, also lifting furniture and appliances (amazing finger dexterity and grip) plus moving wood with my friends, they really help against the splinters and when your accident prone friend drops a log on your hands, the padded knuckles cannot be beat! The only issue I've had was the velcro on the strap used to secure the gloves has come unglued, the velcro holds but the rubber strap flops loosely, but if you size them correctly they won't come flying off your hands...all in all if you're looking for gloves that are for fun or for work in any condition, these are definitely the ones to buy. I've been using these gloves for quite awhile, and they're perhaps the best set I've ever had. They fit well, not tight, not loose. They stay warm, maybe even too warm, even in the coldest environments. The various features, like finger protection and the wrist strap, serve to spoil the wearer; no other glove will measure up after trying these babies on. Some might consider these overkill for basic tasks, like raking leaves, shoveling snow, or moving equipment, but I'm a buy-it-for-life kind of guy and I'd rather have one durable, highly effective pair than a bunch of cheap pairs that rip, tear, or fail me. Great gloves, using it for airsoft. Would have been 5stars if it wasnt for packaging PROs - Size is good, just follow the instruction on measuring and go lower size on conflict - Easy to use and also comfortable. - Works with touch screen - Light weight - Most fingers are protected CONs - Index finger has only a little bit of padding/protection compared to other fingers - Packaging was bad. Only inside of a dirty zip lock plastic. Can be easily opened, closed and swap with other old pair - There is no guarantee that the item you received was new. The pair was not tied to each like other gloves when purchasing new Read more
