This is my second one of these bad boys. Absolutely love it. It is really thin glass though, which is why it’s my second. So be very gentle. Read more

Bought one as a gift and gifted one to myself!

TQUIN45January 25, 2024

So much to like! After visiting my son and having him tell me his paper filters often break 😤 I decided to find a pour over system where he wouldn’t need the filters. This really fit the bill! The stainless filter is awesome. He liked it so much!!! The clear glass container makes it perfect for being able to see how much is in there. I also decided to get one for myself ~~~ so glad I did!😍Best pour over system I have seen and reasonably priced. Read more

Small but useful. And plastic doesn’t touch the coffee

QuequeqJune 19, 2024

It’s good that there is no plastic in the areas that touch the coffee. It does have plastic, but only on the outside.I’d prefer something larger, but it works. Read more

Slightly more effort for much better coffee

Paul KerseyApril 8, 2023

I'm an avid home roaster who's tried a wide variety of brewing methods: drip, Aeropress, French press, and moka pot. I hadn't tried a pourover brewer and figured it was time. The pourover method is considered ideal for single-origin coffees because it enhances subtle taste notes of beans. This is especially important for lighter-roasted natural-processed coffees with fruity notes. Simplicity is one of the selling points of the pourover method. This brewer consists of two parts--a sturdy dual-layer stainless steel filter and a glass carafe. You'll need a scale, quality grinder, and gooseneck kettle to get the best results--but you could undoubtedly get drinkable coffee using bagged ground coffee and the included plastic scoop. Since this is a 100% manual, user-engaged brewing process, it's up to you to correctly manage the grind size, coffee-to-water ratio, and water temp. Once you have all that straight, the process is very straightforward (but technique-dependent). It's critical to bloom the coffee if you want best-possible results. To do this, completely wet the grounds with the least amount of water possible. This will release pent-up CO2 and cause the grinds to swell and rise. If your coffee is fresh, you'll see a substantial increase in the apparent volume of the grinds. Once the blooming process is complete (generally 30-60 seconds), the grinds will stop rising and bubbling. You can then commence the normal pourover process. Slowly pour water from the gooseneck kettle in a slow, circular motion. This should ensure all of the grounds are equally submerged, which will improve the evenness of the extraction process. This is where practice and skill come into play. You definitely need to practice your technique to get the best-possible results. The carafe has a handy plastic guard sleeve that protects your hands from burns even if you use boiling water to brew. I frequently brew with my Aeropress--which requires about 33 grams of ground coffee to produce two outstanding 8-oz cups. The pourover method actually needs quite a bit less. Most baristas recommend around 26 grams of medium-ground coffee for 16 ounces of water. I stupidly used 35 grams with 205-degree water for my initial 2-cup batch, and the resulting brew was far too strong. Once I dropped down to about 26 grams, the results were vastly improved. You could also stick with those parameters and add more water to the finished brew--or move to a coarser grind size. That's one of the beauties of this method. Since you have direct control over all aspects of brewing, you can alter and improve your results in many different ways. At the end of the day, it's all about taste--and this brewer delivers. It produces strong, rich coffee with excellent body. Many metal filter brewing methods leave sediment in your cup--but at medium-grind, I get zero sludge with this quality stainless steel cone filter. Excellent taste isn't a surprise since most coffee aficionados agree that metal filters produce tastier coffee than cloth or paper. Unfortunately, this is a double-edged sword since coffee that isn't brewed through a paper filter has much higher level of cafestol, which increases LDL (bad) cholesterol. I drink a good amount of coffee every day, so I'll be using this brewer more for special occasions than my go-to brewing method. It's not all bad news, though. The high-quality stainless steel filter eliminates many of the health concerns associated with aluminum or plastic brewing materials. Clean-up isn't as easy as it is with the Aeropress, since grinds seem to adhere to the metal cone filter much more than they do to the plastic and rubber Aeropress surfaces. Even banging the filter on the inside of a metal trash can fails to dislodge all the grinds. You'll likely have to use your fingers to sweep out the remnants, which may be a deal breaker for some. All-in-all, I'm very glad to have this pourover brewer in my arsenal. I generally lean toward washed-process coffees roasted medium-dark, but I'm looking forward to trying some lighter-roasted Yemen or Ethiopia beans with this brewer. It should bring out more of the subtle taste notes that make those varietals so popular. Read more

Good pour over

Julia M.May 25, 2023

I used to have a different brand that is popular and well loved and the coffee from this is comparable to that. Just make sure you measure the correct amount of coffee and make sure your bean grind is correct. If you wet the grind a little before you start your pour it helps it flow better and you get a more even pour. I like the plastic handle its easier to manuever than the cork and I don't have to take it on and off to wash it. Which was a huge pain in the other models of pour over carafes. If you're looking to make around 4 cups of coffee at a time this is a great option because you can control the quality very easily which you cannot do with a traditional coffee pot. I recommend a burr grinder and a gooseneck teakettle. Even better if you have an electric kettle with a coffee setting because that makes things easy. There are a lot of tutorials online on making pour over coffee taste nice. If you don't have an electronic kettle get a gooseneck kettle for under ten bucks that is an essential companion to a pour over. It helps you control how you put water in the coffe instead of just dumping it willy-nilly and making pockets of coffee pass though and miss other parts of the beans leading to an uneven pour. Trust me on this. But this little guy is a great pour over kettle and if you are a newbie go read a tutorial after you buy this and be wowed at how much your home coffee gets elevated. Read more

Great addition for your coffee setup

Christian GilbertApril 9, 2023

If you're a coffee lover like me, then you know that a great cup of coffee starts with high-quality equipment. That's why I would give pour over set a solid 5-star review! This product is amazing when it comes to making delicious coffee at home. First and foremost, this type of coffee maker is incredibly easy to use. It features a sleek and modern design that looks great on any countertop, and the glass carafe allows you to watch as your coffee is brewed to perfection. Plus, the carafe is made from high-quality borosilicate glass, which is durable and heat-resistant, making it safe to use with hot liquids. But what really sets this coffee maker apart is the quality of the coffee it produces. The unique pour-over design allows for maximum extraction, which means that you'll get a rich and flavorful cup of coffee every time. And since it has a stainless steel filter, you don't have to worry about any special equipment or accessories. Another great feature of this coffee maker is its convenience. It's incredibly easy to clean, and since it's made from glass, it won't absorb any flavors or odors from your coffee. Plus, the carafe is dishwasher safe, making it a breeze to clean up after each use. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a great cup of coffee. Read more
