This has to be one of my best purchases for post jaw surgery! The thickness is amazing and it’s so easy to use! The pads don’t take long at all to freeze and I can even throw the whole thing in the freezer so it’s extra cold around my jaw. Okayyyy I managed to avoid having my bottom wisdom teeth pulled until 43 years old. Smart or incredibly stupid? I lean towards the latter. I survived, though, with the help of this ice pack. It worked perfectly immediately after surgery and in the days after. It absolutely did smell funky when I took it out of the package, so I threw it in a garment bag and popped it in the washer with my laundry then hung it to dry. It was soft and comfortable, easy to adjust, strapped on perfectly and was easy to use ice on my jaw without having to fuss with wrapping an ice pack and holding it against my face. A must for wisdom teeth recovery. Super easy to freeze, stays cold for a long time. Easy to put on, take off, and swap packs. My kids even napped while wearing. The best part is after the first 24hrs we switched to heat (20sec in the microwave) it helped with swelling and soreness. Size of gel pad not sufficient to cover the TMJ so if you have jaw joint (TmJ) pain, this will not be adequate. It will work for tooth extractions as it cover the mandible and maxillary areas well. Not recommend for jaw joint pain. Read more
