The underside of the pan arrived with several scratches on it. I've only used it to poach an egg, which was my main purpose in buying it....so it works fine for that. Even though the egg is poached in water, not fried egg white does stick to it. Read more

Easy to cook one egg!

I love my little 6” Norpro non-stick frying pan! My egg cooks fast on my glass top stovetop while my bread is toasting. I put about 1 tablespoon butter in the pan, heat it and crack the egg into the pan, making sure the yolk is centered, then put a lid on immediately. I don’t have turn it because a put one of my small calphalon clear glass lids on top. As soon as the white is almost opaque and the edges of the white are bubbling, I put it on top of my sliced avocado that’s on my toast. So good! Don’t buy a little pan with a vented lid, the steam is what you need to cook the top of the egg perfectly. My lid is just a tiny bit too large for the skillet, so it sits on top, but the egg cooks perfectly. Read more

Safety Concern?

For some reason I didn't see the Amazon listing for this item and instead bought it from this seller for much more money... But that's not why I gave it a low rating. It's nearly impossible to find a skillet this size (unless you want cast iron). So when I saw this one, I jumped on it. However, it's very cheaply made. The "nonstick coating" is useless. Even with a whole lot of oil in the pan, food gets very stuck. Additionally, I used it only twice so far and the coating is starting to scrape away and the metal is rusting. In fact, rust is forming along all the seams of the pan. This seems to me like a serious safety hazard. I don't want to have to worry getting pieces of "nonstick" coating or rust in my food.
