This is the best purchase that I've made in a long time! The handle on this razor is remarkable. Many other safety razors out there have very thin handles and make it very uncomfortable to hold and shave with. I received a different safety razor as a christmas present last year which cost upwards of $100 that had a thin handle. This razor at a fraction of the price of that one performs 10 times better!! I couldn't believe the amazing quality of this razor when it arrived in the mail. Shipping time was spot on. The handle is extremely comfortable to hold and the razor itself performs amazingly. I saw other reviewers saying how they don't like the shark brand of blades, but I have nothing negative to say about them. They are extremely sharp and cut without any pulling or tugging at all. This is exceptional because I have very thick hair/whiskers and every blade that I've ever used always pulls and tugs so this has been a joy to use ever since I received it. The only other brand of blade that I used was Merkur and I can honestly say that I like the Shark blades a hundred times better. Even the Merkur blades tugged when I used them. I will never go back to the Shick Hydro 5 that I was using. Who would have ever thought that one single old fashioned razor blade would be better than five modern blades? This is probably the best safety razor out there. The only other one that I haven't used yet, but that might offer some level of competition to this one would be the Merkur Futur Adjustable Safety Razor. Like I said, though, I haven't used that one and this one, so far, has been amazing. What an amazing bargain for an unbelievably nice and comfortable razor!! I would definitely, highly recommend this razor! Don't get caught up in the price and think that it is junk for what the price is because the quality of this razor is comparable to ones that are in the hundred dollar price range easily! I was using a rather cheaply made razor and decided to get a better one. After searching the local stores I could find none, in fact, most of the employees I spoke with had no idea what I was looking for (no surprise there). So I searched Amazon and found a good selection. I chose this one because I liked the look, reviews and price. What surprised me most was shortly after placing my order I received an email from the manufacture thanking me for my order. Then a few days after the delivery date I received another email asking how I liked the razor. I was quite impressed. This razor is a bit more aggressive than the one I had been using so I needed to tweak my shaving method, no big deal. Now I'm getting a much better, closer shave. There was one issue I had though. I found this razor to be too long for my stand. I wrote the manufacture with a suggested solution and received a positive answer within a hour. Over all I'm extremely pleased. This razor is a very smooth razor that looks elegant, also. There is no blade overhang, and it fits well into the palm of your hand. The weight of the razor is good, so it can do the work of removing beard growth without much pressure. This razor will be a welcome addition to your shave den. Read more

Love this razor. I had been using a merkur 34 C for 4 years now and wanted a change. So I bought this razor after searching a lot. This has turned into my favorite razor, even better than the merkur. It has nice weight to it, is a bit more aggressive than the Merkur (which is what I needed). The balance of the razor is phenomenal, and the handle does not slip even with wet hands. If your hands are soapy, you might have to use some alum, to improve the grip. I have medium growth, but thick coarse hair. I have shave every other day, and make three passes, WTG, XTG, and ATG. I use personna comfort coated blades (made in Israel), also called the Israeli Blues. I am very happy with my purchase. Will not need a new razor for a lonnnnnng time, or will I ? Aside from being nice to look at, this razor has a good balance and feel. I have used it daily and it follows all the curves without complaint, gives a nice clean shave and it cleans up easily. A little pricey but worth it, my one complaint is that the razor has a screw on head meaning that to change blades you have to disassemble the head, insert a blade and reassemble it (not altogether a bad thing as it holds the blade much more securely than the butterfly type). This is a hefty razor and feels good in my hand, and holds the blade snug and does not loosen like some I used years ago. I think the last time I used a double edge razor was in boot camp. I have a old Shick adjustable injector that I have had for many years that I use when I can find blades for it. I see Amazon has the blades for them so that takes care of that problem. The Parker is easy to clean unlike the 2 or 4 bladed you get now days. The Parker is good looking razor witch is why I gave it a 5 star. The blades only three star, I like the Gillette better. What a disappointment - and I had high hopes for this razor. Tried for first time today with shaving oil and Gillette Silver Blue blade = harsh shave and nicks - something not experienced with exact same combo with my Parker 99R and 26C razors.
